What is the model of your TV?
How old is it?

It looks like your TV might have dry solder joints since it works well after warming up. If your TV is less then 3 years old; i would suggest to contact the manufacturers to get fix under warranty. These brand has 3 years warranty as state it in their website.

Repair involves either/both replacement of the flyback transformer or horizontal output transistors.

There are a number of faults that can cause similar probblems, one of the components on the unit is defective, and when it warms up you lose picture.
The TV must be inspected by a technician and the component replaced.
If you decide to call technical support , you can use the phone number printed on the owner manual.

If you use an external receiver, for example a sat box, check alsothe cables connecting to te tv.

Test the TV with a regular antenna only, if you do not lose color anymore, then the problem is either with cables or receiver box.

Recently replaced the LED strips on a LD 47LN5200 TV. Now I get a faint showwing of the LEDs on the picture Di I reassemble the difuser incorrectly Is the a correct sequence?

The film sheets and diffuser are orientation-critical and need to be reinstalled in the exact position and orientation that they were originally installed in. If you did not carefully lay them aside without disturbing their positions, then it will be almost impossible to get them back to normal.
Another possibility is the LED strips that you replaced are not staying adhered to the metal frame. Did you install new thermal adhesive tape to the strips you replaced? If the strips come loose and move closer to the diffuser, the LED outlines will show through.

I have sony bravia KDL-40BX420 TV ,purchased 03 years back.recently got a problem with pictures & colour. It shows pictures with shadow & colours are blured.please give your feedback

I would check the menu settings and reset everything to default. if there are calibration tests in the menu, use them. Try more than one source for video.

Vertical colour bars

The problem is in the LCD controller board is overheated because the power supply unit is at the bottomof the TV and the heat rises upward to the vent on the top of the TV. You can verify that is hest problrm by running TV with the back removed and have a small fan blowing on the top secdtion of the TV where the LCD controller is. This how I fixed my scrambled picture after warm up (I added heat sinks to the IC on the LCD controller board) : http://s807.photobucket.com/albums/yy352/budm/LTV-32W3HD/
You can try it if the board was not badly damaged already by the heat. My has been running great for over a month now.

Sony BRAVIA KDL-40W4000

Hi there,

I've been looking into this myself as I've also recently purchased the KDL-40W4000. I was watching a murky old film and was getting a bit of sludgy ghosting but found that by reducing the contrast to 25, setting the backlight on low, colour on neutral and the brightness about 40-60 (and taking ALL advanced noise functions off), this reduced the ghosting considerably.

BUT, this is quite a cool and dark image. If you watch standard TV and films mainly, a variation of the Cinema setting is probably the best overall setting i.e.

backlight: min
contrast: 79
brightness: 50
colour: 53
colour temp: Warm 2 (although Warm 1 is less yellow and still fine)
sharpness: min
noise reduction: off
mpeg nr: off
contrast enhancer: off
colour space: standard

it depends on what your using it for, adjust colour tones to what you think looks natural, contrast between 80-90, keep sharpness below 30. just have a play around till you find what best suits the source material.

check to see if you do not have speakers on the side of your tv or any where around it.which could be causing your problem.
