Hi there
I would go to menu on the remote , from there to picture go down the list, if you do not find anything there to help you. Go to Support and to the E manual .

Lcd no sound/picture when turned on

It sounds that the digital video processor section circuit has the fault. You haven't provided more details about your TV; brand name, model number etc; so it is not possible to post a solution to this problem. Visit the site named 'Electro-help' for more details. Click this link. View it in "Timeslide" or "Flipcard" option, which can be selected from the drop down box menu by the [Sidebar] tag, at the top left corner of the display window. It will make search easy. There are more than 1300 posts to different brand TVs now. Pull up older posts there. Visit the site, and check whether it can help you.

When I turn on tv the picture comes on for about a second then goes dark. Sound works perfectly. Same thing occurs with every other channel. Same thing happens in dvd mode., sound but no picture. I have...

Sounds like it could be a bad inverter for the screen lamp. If it is a bad inverter and the tv is still under warranty you should send it back for a replacement or repair. If the tv is not under warranty and you have some experience working on electronic devices you could probably find a replacement inverter online and replace the bad one.

Sceptre LCD TV power come on, but there is no picture or sound.

There are two easy fixes you can try. Both require you to take the back panel off. If you are not comfortable doing this, take it to a repair shop.
UNPLUG IT.
Place the TV face down on a soft/solid surface.
After you get the back panel off, there are three silver boxes. There are white and black wires leading from the off switch to the top silver box. Take the cover off that box.
Inside is a ceramic fuse. Test that fuse. If it is blown, your local electronics shop can find a replacement.
If not, disconnect the white and black wires from the PC board. Remove the 6 screws holding it in place.
Look for scorch marks under the board.
Cut a thick piece of plastic and tape id down over the scorch marks.
Re-attach the board with the six screws and re-connect the black and white wires.

Turn the power switch to the OFF position and plug in the TV.
Turn on the power switch while WATCHING the board you just removed.
If you hear a sizzle, turn off the switch and get a thicker piece of plasic.
If not, the TV should come back on.
Re-assemble the silver box and put the back on.

Hope this helps.
