Re: How can I get into my hotpoint CDT00 dryer.
Most dryers come apart from the front. there is usually 2 screws holding the bottom panel on the front. once that is removed, there is usually 4 screws holding the front panel on. when both of those panels are off, you can pretty much get to anything you need to.

pump at the back is most likely blocked or failing ... there are hoses running down the back make sure these are clear as a fisrt port of call .. also remove heat exchanger and make sure there is no build up of wet damp fluff blocking anything .. always remove from mains before attempting any repair
Suggest you check the heater and thermostat(s), to be found at the rear of the m/c behind a removable panel., you will need a meter to do this.
If o/k then problem could be faulty control or relay if it has one..
To be found at the top front.
I am not familiar with this particular unit, but I have a condensing dryer (Malber) which pumps out the water by itself. I am guessing that your unit requires you to empty a bin manually. Even if the bin is empty, I think the unit thinks it needs to be emptied and that is why the dryer will not work to give you hot air. If you do have such a bin, it might have a weight switch which the unit uses to detect if the bin needs emptying. See if the weight switch is working. The same weight switch idea is used on dehumidifiers.
