Question about Projection Televisions

Open Question

I HAVE A VCR-DVD COMBO MODEL DRC8335. LAST YEAR I HAD TO EXCHANGE IT AND WHEN THEY SENT ME THE NEW ONE. I THINK THEY SENT THE WRONG REMOTE AS IT IS AN RCA197DA2,AND SHOULD HAVE BEEN A NUMBER RCA192DA3 WHICH IS PICTURED IN THE USER MANUAL. IT WILL TURN THE UNIT ON AND OFF BUT WILL NOT PLAY A TAPE OR A DVD. I NOW FIND OUT THEY NO LONGER MAKE THE REMOTE WHICH GOES WITH THIS UNIT. I JUST PURCHASED AN RCA UNIVERSAL REMOTE WHICH HAS 19 CODES TO ENTER INTO THE REMOTE. WHICH ONE DO I USE WITHOUT ENTERING EACH ONE TO SEE IF IT WORKS OK. I ALSO FOUND OUT THAT THE EXCHANGE UNIT HAS ONLY A 90 DAY WARRANTY SO I GUESS IT IS ON MY DIME; CAN YOU HELP ME IVO RANDELS

Hi CindyCee,

I have tried to post solutions, but they seem to be too long, so I will have to post more than once to get the info to you.

First part- the "Line-In" Video Source thing many people are having fun with. Try these options from the Samsung FAQs website.:

How Do You Switch Video Sources? spacer.gif Depending on the model TV you have, there are up to four ways to change the video source:

  • Through the on-screen menu controlled by your remote
  • Through the on-screen menu accessed through the Menu button on your TV's front panel

SOURCE: SHould AN RCA RCU400E. RCA

No,only the original tv remote that design for that tv model will work only for that tv without a universal codes. All universal remotes have to have a codes enter to program it to make work for the tv dose not mater same model or simular. All the rest same model of tv or simulair tvs the original remote only 50/50 should work, some fuctions just not there or just don't have it.

Cannot connect a VCR/DVD player to Zenith SY1959Y

you don't need a code for the vcr/dvd combo to work on your tv. You need to make sure you have hooked up the cables correctly. remember that the dvd can be hooked up with the component cabels and the vhs may need to be hooked up thru the tv cable hookup.

You can try replacing the remote receiver inside the set. This should be a small silver box located in the front of hte set. It should have 3 leads soldered to the board. The part number is:
LSSZ0004 and costs about $5.
