Sounds like your DVD Ram is running. Did you check to see if there is anything inside of the DVD Ram? Is it is the DVDram you will need to replace it.

Hello there and thank you for choosing fixya for your problem
on on these notebooks if you hold down the power button for at least 6 seconds this will power down the laptop then wait 5 seconds and press the power button again to restart the machine it willstart up again then when it starts up select start windows normally and you should be ok from here you can also just unplug the power cord from the laptop and remove the battery for 1 min then replace the battery and the power cord and start it normally like you would ok and finally on the back of the machine there is a very small reset hole about the size of a tooth pick that you can insert a paperclip into to reset it also ok?
So there you go this is every way known to man kind to restart and reset these laptops ok?
Hope this is very helpful for you pleae do me a favor and give this solution a rating so i can continue to help others like yourself
Best regards MIke

Try removing your battery for about 5 mins and place it back. This time it should start properly.
