Question about Computers & Internet

1 Answer

Mozilla Firefox trumps Internet Explorer

On one of my machines, I can't get IE to do anything. If I type in a URL, when I hit enter, the action starts up Firefox which starts searching for that URL ... or, if Firefox is already open, the focus is switched toFirefox which starts searching for that URL.

As much as I like Firefox, I need IE on a couple of sites where Firefox won't read properly.

Thank you

You should try making IE your standard browser, I think it's in extras or internet options menu. When you've done that, it should open all sites in IE. Or you can try downloading extra plug-ins for firefox that will display the site properly.

Hope this helps!

I got a temp pass word that will not work, it say's broswer not supported and something about the cookies. i have cleaned out my broswer history and deleaded my cookies, didn't work, can you please...

for this kind of error what it needs is a browser upgrade... or download either google chrome, mozilla Firefox or latest version of IE browser...
Google Chrome browser: http://www.google.com/chrome?&brand=CHMB&utm_campaign=en&utm_source=en-ha-na-us-sk&utm_medium=ha
Mozilla firefox: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/new/
IE latest version: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/internet-explorer/products/ie/home?ocid=ie9_bow_Google&WT.srch=1&mtag=SearGoogle
or if you don't want any to download any browser you may want to try running your email on windows explorer:
click on "MY Computer" delete what you have on the address bar and proceed typing the URL of your email...
windows browser is the default browser of any microsoft Operating system >> free from any update nor add-ons...
you may want to try using one of the suggested methods..
thanks hope this helps

A blank screen when I open mozzillafirefox

Go into the address bar and type the URL for the site you would like to call your "Home Page". For example, in the address bar type the following:

http://www.yahoo.com

Next, press ENTER and see if it goes to that page. If so, then on the Firefox menu bar, click Tools, General, Use Current Page(s). This should set your home page.

To test it out, now close Firefox, wait about 5 seconds, and start Firefox again. It should land on Yahoo! (assuming that is what you selected for your home page).

If you're not getting any results at all, i.e., you can't access the Internet at all using Firefox, then see if you can access the Internet using Microsoft's Internet Explorer. If that works, then I would suggest completely uninstalling Firefox via Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel. Then, go to the following URL:

http://www.firefox.com

Download the latest, greatest version of Firefox. Install it, start it up for the first time, and allow it to become your default browser. From there onwards, you should do fine. Personally, I love Firefox and will not use anything else.

Please let me know if this works for you!

Thanks ~Jim :-)

For IE (Internet Explorer), use :
tools > Internet Options > General (tab) > HomePage

and simply type in any URL that you'd like for your home page.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
For Mozilla firefox, use:

tools > options > General (icon) > Startup (section)

and enter the home page you prefer.

Hello, i downloaded mozilla firefox as my internet browser because i was having problems with comcast opening slower. i cannot open my email . how do i get my email to work from comcast with mozilla

You need to enter the URL (internet address) for your Comcast email into your firefox browser. Open your email in internet explorer and take note of what address is listed at the top of the window. Use this in your Firefox browser.
