We have a 5 yrs old FAGOR FE-1158 ELEGANCE wash machine w/o problems till now. We have a problem with the centrifuge program-it does not start, although the machine can spin slowly. Is it a motor problem or a problem with the programmer? Thanx for the help in advance!

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
Sorry but FixYa cannot do that direct- members of the forum are just people from all over the world, probably working from home, and not representing any particular manufacturer ;-0)
You will need to type into your search engine/web browser '(make model number) washer manual' and you should be presented with a number of sources from which you can either download for free or have to pay a nominal amount.
You could also try the manufacturer's web site direct ;-0)
If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck!
the most probable trouble is the lid switch is defective , this video will show you how to disassamble the machine and replace the switch, please note the part #shown may not be the exact one for your model but the process to replace it is exactly the same here is the link to the youtube video http://youtu.be/MFsvLiuTniU
Have it on Number 3 for the wash, 5 is the best spin. It gets smelly quite quickly, so wash the drawer alot, and get the mould out from ALL the inside of teh drawer compartment, and wash it at 90 with washing machine service powder (Asda 3.50!)
The "FE" code is referring to a bad or malfunctioning water valve. The machine continues to fill because the solenoid on the valve inside the machine isn't closing to stop the water. The valve should be inspected and/or replaced if bad. This will require some dis-assembly, if washing machine repair isn't something your comfortable with then a service call is the best bet. If you are going to try and inspect yourself please make sure you unplug the machine before starting any dis-assembly. Hope this helps.
