If you have Toshiba Console installed, you can set your BIOS to the defaults.
If not, go to:

and download it there.
Good luck

Hi.
It sounds like your Toshiba's bios is froze.
Here, try this procedure, it might get you going again.

First, disconnect everything from your laptop, including taking out the battery, and unplugging it.

Next, press and hold the power button for at LEAST 45 seconds to a minute.

This is known as a soft reset.

Next, put the battery in, and see if it will boot up on the battery.

If so, then you are good to go.

This is most likely the problem, so this should work for you.

I hope I helped you out some, and good luck !

C-mos unlock cod

Please do not set a CMOS, aka BIOS password. Such passwords are so easily beaten, so easily forgotten and serve no real purpose for a personal owned computer.

If you are trying to get around a password that you already put in that you forgot ... find and diconnect the BIOX battery - wait 30 seconds and replace it.

How to clear cmos?

There is no need to reset the BIOS if the Toshiba boots up normally.
The BIOS/CMOS configures the various devices in the laptop so it function correctly.

How do i open the bios?

When you start you computer, you'll need to fit a key F1-F12 depending on your motherboard's model and you can access the bios. This F1-F12 number is usually displayed quickly before the motherboard boots off of the boot device, and it can likely be found in a reference manual

Fail to load files during text mode setup

Maybe its a software problem, have you tried putting in a bootable XP installation CD? After the bios boot and it asks you to boot to CD, press R for repair, it will try to repair your OS, and if it is an OS problem ,then it will boot once again... If not you can try formatting your HDD and reinstalling windows...

Failure to load windows

If you can try a different hard drive. And make sure the format of the hard drive that's installed doesn't freeze or doesn't complete.
Those are just the first things that popped into my mind,
I'm sure other's will have more suggestions.
Good luck.
