Xbox 360 load disc, goes back to 'open tray'...

Hi
As the title says every time I put a disc in, it says 'reading' then returns to 'open tray'. I'm sending it to ms for repairs if I can't fix it myself

Ya same here, and it is not a dirty disc problem. I tried all my games, some DVDs too. It just won't read.

same problem, so i put in a game never played before and the same thing happened. it wont read the disc but i feel if i hit it with my baseball bat it might help.(haha) can somebody please email me at [email protected] with a serious solution. thank you

My sister put in Kung fu Panda and it wouldn't read now the xbox won't read any other disks and says reading on the menu and then says open tray.

this is really pissing me off... i've looked all over the internet and can't find how to fix it, anything i've looked at on youtube or anywhere else doesn't even work. i just got off grounding and got my xbox back and now this happens? not only that but while i was gone one night someone spent all my ms points... someone please help... i need a solution, and it's not the disk.

All the same and a base ball bat might work... but i was thinking more along the lines of hihg explosives (hehehehehe :)) that might do the trick

When i put a game in my xbox 360 it says reading then open tray

I found a solution that works for me after a long period of time with this problem.

Get an air spray canister (just compressed air), open your Xbox's game tray, take the disc out, then spray the air along the tray, moving side to side inside the Xbox. You may want to spray into the vents, too, just to be sure.

This worked for me, and it was the only thing that worked for me. I had already tried hitting the console with the controller (gently), and doing the stuff Microsoft recommends etc.

If that doesn't work, you could try gently knocking the top of the Xbox with your conroller, when you put the disc in, as I've heard that works for some people.

Another thing that works for some people is taking the disc out, closing the tray, then when it goes to Open Tray, open the tray, put the disc back in and then closing the tray again.

Xbox 360 Console: I've had problem with my Xbox 360 reading my discs...

Disc drive is out, needs replaced, but inorder to replace it you must keep the original drive. You can either order one online and follow these instructions to do it ureself (recommended) or email [email protected] for a pricing for repair.

When loading disc get message to close tray, console attemps to read disc, then get message to open tray, this repets over and over. I have cleaned disc , tried another disc, and get same problem. Console...

The xbox 360 elites keeps on saying open tray when trying to play

1, the disc may be dirty
2. the mian reason for this your xbox drive cannot read the disc , because the power of the lens is gone(not completely) ,

solution:

1. keep your disc inside the drive and switch off the console, again swith on try this 2 to 3 time
2. keep the console in vertical position or little slanding position(180 dg) make sure it does not fall

3. its better to buy hatddisc and load the game inside it , so that u lens life increased

4. change the entire drive

I put the disc in and on my tv it says open tray and when I do that and close it it says reading then goes back to open tray.

Hi friend try this:

1) Restart your console.
2) Check for loose cables.
3) Pull out all the cables, and get them back in.
4) Take out the hard-drive, and put it back in. Repeat this 4 times.

if the problem still persists then you need to replace your disc drive.
