Check to see if there is a "kybrd 1 and kybrd 2 " switch. should be on kybrd 1. also there is a pitch switch that needs to be the same as your printwheel. look for a switch that has 10, 12, 15 and PS printed beside it. if you have a 10, 12 or 15 pitch printwheel it won't print properly on PS. a PS printwheel won't work on the other settings. also check to see if anything is anything is touching the printwheel. then check the printwheel to make sure none of the fingers is bent out of place. if none of this seems to work, you probably have a bad main board and will need professional repair.

Cannot type even

Not enough information, really. We don't know the model or just exactly what you mean by not typing even. If you mean the lines aren't straight, then it could mean the typeface are not set evenly (which is something you cannot correct), or it could mean the platen is not sitting in the ratchet detent upon return and then slide into place while typing (check by hand that the platen in fully set in the detent by gently trying to move it clockwise or counterclockwise). Also make sure the paper release lever is not pulled. Hope this gives you a start anyway.

I have a panasonic electric typewriter R330 and it only types about in inch then stops how can i fix it?

The right margin is probably set. Hit margin release( MR) and see if it types, if so reset your right margin. Also something could me binding or caught in the path. maybe a correction ribbon or something is blocking it.

@ symbol how do I get it on a type writer?

The @ symbol is usually on the #2 key and reequired the **** key be depresssed. If you get something else, you may have the machine set to Internation Keyboard Mode. Check the settings. Also, you might check the printwheel itself to make sure that it is not and International typestyle. Look for the typestyle name on the printwheel for ENG (for english)

The printwheel has lost it's home position. Release the lever holding the printwheel, remove it and re-install it. Push the lever toward the platen to lock it in. Turn the typewriter on. The printwheel should spin, the carriage should move to the left and the come back to the left margin. You should be OK after that. Let me know if it helps or not Ed
