All
I have a FASTt500 SAN / QLogic 2200 configuration on a 3 node Netware
51sp4 cluster SP3.
Both IBM SAN adapters advertise 20 MB unknown media thru NWConfig/NSS Disk
Options / Modify Partitions and Hot Fix. The 20MB media is on LUN 31.
All real disk media is configured on LUNS 0-7
All NCS nodes believe Adapter A has 20MB Free Space and Adpater B has a
20MB NSS partition.
My problem is that when NSS loads, the MBMMPRV module ABENDS the server if
Adapter B is loaded (i.e. QLogic 2200 is loaded re-entrantly to support
both Adapters to provide failover). MBMMPRV obviously dislikes this 20MB
NSS partition.
I cannot delete the 20MB NSS partition using NWCONFIG. The server ABENDS
if I try to do so.
Any suggestions on how to deal with this would be most appreciated.

You may already know about this, but just in case you don't:
If you have two adapters you need the IBMSAN.CDM module. You also need some
additional parameters on the QL2200.HAM load line, detailed in section 2.0 -
How to install the driver" in the following README file:
#
Note:
- The IBMSAN.CDM driver is for redundant FC-HAs ONLY, and should not be
loaded if you only have one adapter. You'll get some strange situations in
the cluster if you do and you try to pull the FC cable...
RagS!

The Mirrored Cluster Partitions are on LUNS 6 and 7 on two dedicated
logical disks. They are both 15MB in size and appear healthy.
All BIOS / Firmware has been implemented.
QLogic cards are at 1.76 and the HAM is at 6.50p (IBM rev)
The 20MB of media is on LUN 31 which IS the adapter, not any attached
storage media. All attached storage media is on LUN 0-7.
Any ideas?

only used a Fast500 and QL2200 with NW6.
The 20 MB is the system partition for the cluster. This should be
left alone, if you delete it you can kiss goodbye to your cluster!
There are some TID's on the switches for the QLogic cards that help
with the path routing. IBM has also published a document on the
QL2200 settings that you should make when setting up the system. They
also have Bios updates for the QL2200 which made a massive difference
with the NW6 system that I set up.
