All the settings work, except Power Level 10. Thanks for your site, and kindness in helping others.

It doesn't matter that it is the default, it matters that it does not work. The manual only tells me how to operate not to troubleshoot this problem. Please be more specific. And thanks for trying.

Are you saying it won't cook on power level 10 (or the default power setting) and that it cooks on lower power settings? YES

Or is it running without heating? ON LEVEL 10 ONLY

Is it doing this on all power level settings except 10 / default? YES

    Thank you.

Power level 10 would be the default - what it is set to unless you manually set it lower.

Power level 0 (zero) is often the setting to use if you just want to use the oven as a timer.

Many Emerson microwave owner's manuals are available for free download here.

That's really really odd... some odd problems are a result of glitches in the controller.

    The
first thing I would suggest is a hard reset. Unplug the unit for a
minute or so. Then plug it back in, set the clock and try again.

If that doesn't work, leave it unplugged for maybe an hour.

If you still have trouble, I would suggest contacting Emerson. If it's still under warranty, they'll fix it free.

For more help from Emerson visit here or get help using your appliance at 1-800-898-9020.

Get help locating a servicer or parts at 1-800-695-0098.

    Good luck!

Temperature at 10 power level

It does not work that way. The microwave OVEN generates (electromagnetic) microwaves that are absorbed by the molecules of the food in the oven, the container and the air.
The absorption rate depends on the molecular composition. After enough microwave energy is absorbed the overall temperature increases and the food is warmed, heated or cooked. If your mixture is inhomogeneous some parts absorb more energy while other absorb less and you can have hot spots.

The power level by itself won't give you an indication of the temperature because you need to know the time that the power has been applied. In simple terms Energy =time*power. The temperature reached is somewhat proportional to the energy, that makes it dependent on the time and the power.

Where is the light bulb in a emerson mw8115

It is inside the outer shell of the microwave, remove the outer shell to access the bulb, the srews that hold it on are on the back of the oven. You will need to disconnect power of course and do the work in an area that alloes you access to rear of the oven.

I have never used the power feature and now I need to and cant find manual. How does the power feature work. I need to operate the microwave on medium power for one minute.

1 Use the number buttons to set a cooking
time. You can set a time from one second to
99 minutes, 99 seconds. To set a time over
one minute, enter the seconds too. For
example, to set 20 minutes, enter 2, 0, 0, 0 .
2 If you want to set the power level to
something other than High, press the Power
Level button, then use the number buttons
to enter a power level.
Power Levels:
Level Cooking PL
1Warm10
2Low20
3 Defrost 30
4Medium Low40
5Medium50
6 Simmer 60
7 Medium High 70
8 Reheat 80
9 Saute 90
10 High Hi

Hope that helps.

I own one of them Look at the bottom three uo to the left it says (POWER) push the Power button it starts at 10 and goes to 1. 10 being the highest and 5 being half power and 1 being the least. then select the amount of time you will cook by punching in the numbers.

I have an Emerson MW8992RD model and just opening the door blows the fuse! any idea ,could it be a bad door switch? if so where can i purchase a new 1?

Definitely sounds like a defect or misadjusted door switch. This site has venders of M/W parts. FYI,Federal law requires a leakage test after door repair, magnetron replacement or interlock repair.

Mw8992rd seems to be working fine except won't heat food. timer, touch pad, inside light, carousel all work fine. tried different times and power levels but still no heat.

Hello,
This sounds like a bad magnetron that would have to be replaced. There is up to 2000 volts stored in a microwave, even when unplugged. For saftey reasons I would strongly suggest you have a qualified technician check it out.
Hope this helps.

Help inside tray will not rotate

The turntable system consists of the motor, the coupler, the turntable support with rollers, and the tray.

You can see and hear a video of how a turntable motor should sound when you rotate it by hand.

If yours is not set to be off via the control panel, and it won't rotate or it sounds like it's grinding, etc., you may have a bad motor or plastic coupler.

To replace either, you need to unplug power, then remove the bottom cover of the oven.

In some brands, you have to cut the motor cover off with snips, then use a screw when reassembling it.
