Question about Maytag Neptune MDE5500AY Electric Dryer
When the start button is pressed the dryer beeps and this message comes up: "A power failure occurred during the current cycle. Press "Start/pause" to continue this cycle" When I press ok and go back to the cycle it beeps and the message continues to come up.
I had a repair service out last week and he got it started. Said the wiring was slightly loose inside. Tightened some interior wires. Dryer worked fine for several hours and started doing the same thing.
I have check the circut breakers, the plug going into the wall. Any ideas?
I had the same problem. It turned out a power transformer in the neighborhood had gone bad. I found it by checking power at the receptacles in the house and we weren't getting proper voltage throughout the house. We had enough power in the house to power lights, the TV, coffee maker etc. but not enough for the dryer. I called the power company and they came out to do a check. At first they said there was a wiring problem with the house until all the neighbors started coming over after seeing their vehicle and saying they were having problems. So maybe you aren't getting proper power to the unit.
Good luck. Hope this fixes your problem.
