Question about Canon NP 6050 Copier
I am trying to find simple, easy to follow instructions on how to replace the drum on our office copier. Installation is going to cost way too much and we feel like we can do it between the 6 of us!
Can anyone give me step-by-step instructions?
All you have to do is have a phillips screwdriver and remove the screw that secures the drum to the copier. Before removing the screw you need to release the developer unit out of the way. Just perform the same procedure as if you were going to put new toner into the copier but you don't have to pull out the developer unit. Then just to left is the drum unit and at the top of it should be a black screw. It will be about an inch long. Then just pull out the drum and put in the new one after removing all the packing material. Be sure to not touch the round cylinder of the drum unit, that is the drum. Also, you may want to practice put in the old drum several times before putting in the new drum until you're sure you can put in the new one without damaging it. There is another thing that should be done but that is a technician thing and is probalbly beyound what you am7y want to deal with. It doesn't really ahve to be done but a tech should do if he replaces the drum for you. It most likely would not affect copy quality and will not hurt the drum if not done. Good Luck and be careful.
