Question about Nakajima AE-740 Typewriter

Bad vibration,constant beeping on brand new unit

I ordered a brand new Nakajima AE 740 from an online store with SpellChecker.When the unit arrived,there was no Spell Checker included.
That same dya it arrived in a seperate package with instructions and the 2 jumpers.I took it to a local electronics repair shop who installed the chip and jumpers.When I got home and plugged it in,it started making a noise that sounded like the motors were trying to work but couldn't. there was also a constant beeping.

Did the machine work befor the spellcheck was installed? If so look inside the T/W for forgien objects that interfear with the carrier.

move the carrier with the space bar or the back space to the place you want the new margins and press the left margin key do the same for the right

We can't get typewriter to stop beeping once it is turned on. Is there a code? model 3 AE-740


No code that I know of, however there are wires that break in the print harness just about 1" from th L. frame.

Check for debris inside T/W, put some WD40 on the silver shaft that the carrier rides on. If these fail check the wiring harness about 1" from carrier you may find broken wires there.

It sounds like a keyboard problem, maybe a spill, if so lit it sit on its side for a couple of days it may dry and heal itself, otherwise you will need a tech.

Return to the L. margin, touch and release the mar rel key, backspace to where you want the margin, press L. mar. Key.
The R. Mar works the same.
