Make sure you have the correct driver for your sound card.

(A good way to know which sound card you are using is "Aida32"

Sound not working after reinstalling pc

If this machine is running XP, or earlier (98, 2000, ME, etc.), beware. It is no longer supported, and hackers will be looking for these machines to infect. I recommend you get a newer machine, or don't try to get on the Internet with this one.

I have a brand new shiny benq v2210 but no drivers or install disk. How do I install it. t thanks

I just went to the BenQ website and found the following:

Please visit the BenQ website at www.BenQ-eu.com/serviceandsupport/ to download the appropriate LCD Monitor drivers, alternatively you can also use the standard plug n play monitor driver in windows.

First I did Google search for BenQ
> www.benq.com
> clicked on support
> chose USA
> Knowledge base
> FAQ LCD Monitors
> first question: I don't have the driver for my LCD monitor, what should I do?

Also, I found the BenQ phone number (1. 866. 600.2367) that you can call during Monday to Friday business hours which are: 8:30 to 5:30 PST

I hope this will help resolve this for you

I have windows me 98 and I can not download mircosoft words or update the computer. I know in the end I will have to buy a disk to update the computer. I was wondering if there is anything else I can...

I'm very sorry to tell you, but anything below Windows 2000 is no longer supported.

Microsoft announced back in July 11th 2006, that they will no longer support them.

I would highly recommend getting a new computer. JUST THE TOWER. You can still use your mouse, keyboard, monitor, speakers.

If your computer came with windows 98, it is very old. If you try and upgrade your operating system to xp, your system will run very slow unless you upgrade your hardware. And its really not worth it.

Trying to add speakers

The only way i can see of feeding two sets of speakers from the one pc would be to buy or make up a "splitter" audio lead .....i.e a 3.5mm stereo jack on one end connected to the pc with two lots of wiring going to 2 3.5 mm jacks. I don't know whether a store like Maplins would sell such a lead. Are you any good with a soldering iron??

Uncontrolled sound

It is possible that a virus can do that. Please make sure your Windows is updated by going to Start-->Help and Support, then in the Pick a Task section click "Keep your computer up-to-date with Windows Update"

Sound trouble

Be sure the audio cable is connected from the monitor to the sound card (green port) and that the monitor volume is actually on and turned up. If you are able to get sound with other speakers or headphones connected to your computer then the problem is with the monitor speakers.

This is free unless you want the premium services as I understand it. It just takes time for someone to browse the questions and reply.

No sound,

You may be missing a sound card which can me purchased and installed professionally at any computer store. You also may want to check that the computer even recognizes the speaker by accessing the Speaker section in the Control Panel.

No sound coming from new hp monitor through windows vista

Alright, I got the answer for ya, first, go into your control panel. Click on Sounds and Audio Devices. Listed in this window should be the name of your sound card. Under that, should be Device Volume, and at the bottom, should be the Speaker Settings, click into Advanced, next to speaker volume. It should show you a diagram of a monitor with the amount of speakers it has selected shown next to it. Where it says Speaker Setup, click and then scroll down until you see 3 settings labeled Monitor Stereo, Monitor Stand Stereo, and Monitor Mounted Stereo. Whatever one enables the sound will be the one you want to stick with.
