Make sure you have the correct driver for your sound card.

(A good way to know which sound card you are using is "Aida32"

I replaced my previous MIRO monitor today with an Acer S271HL. My PC has Windows 8.1. I can no longer get any sound.

Were the speakers part of the monitor or plugged into the side of the monitor.?..If so there may have been an amplifier in the monitor.. By replacing the monitor with one with no amplifier you have no sound.. The line output is not enough to drive the speakers ...you will need speakers with built in amplifiers that plug into a transformer plug and other green pin plug into the output on the computer.

Sound does not work. I have not been able to get the speakers to work, nor headphones when they are plugged into the monitor

We need to find first if the problem is in the monitor or in the sound card in the PC (hopefully you have the audio cable hooked up correctly, Green audio line out of PC goes to green audio line in of the monitor). Try feeding it with MP3 player or sound source to see if you get the sound or not and go from there, please post back. If it is bad amplifier in the monitor, you will be better off putting money toward Good powered speakers that will have 100% better sound than the tiny speakers inside the monitor that sound like tinned can.

I have only had my monitor for a few months and my speakers do not seem to be working. I cannot figure out why I no longer have sound. ~Jody

Check and make sure connection both in the back of the PC and the back of the monitor are securely in place and in the correct ports (holes). The ports are typically color coded a light green. Go into Control Panel (in Windows) and to Sound. Under Playback, make sure your speakers are listed and they are set to default (a little green check mark).
If everything looks fine, I would reinstall the software that came with your monitor and it will help you setup the speakers during the process.

if yes from the tower than your video card fails.

Re No sound from monitor speakers

Thanks for the info,

Ok heres what I would doo to fix this.....

Get the original disk with the drivers on it and reinstall it.

If you don't have the disk then you will have to ......

(unplug sound card - if its a plug in)
Remove the cables, check for model and make, download from net.
or
if sound on motherboard then download the model and make also.

You will have to load the downloaded drivers on to a disk.
2.update your device drivers and point the wizard at the disk,

Reboot and that should be it sorted,

Thanks and let me know the outcome,Cheers

No Audio?

Have you connected the sound cable from your soundcard on the computer to the audio port on your monitor (it's underneath).

I only ask because it's often missed being where it is.

Anyway, hope that's all your problem was.
