My Segate hard disk(250 GB) is not been detected when it is connected to D845GLLY mother board. My BIOS version is LY84510A.86A.0029.P11.
Please help me debug the problem. ( I have connected the SATA disk to the motherboard by using IDE to SATA convertor).

M/Boards support all makes of hard drive Are you sure you connected it correctly The wide ribbon cable that goes in the rear of hard drive should 1) Be connected to M/board in the No 1 connector with the stripe on cable to the No 1 pin 2) the stripe on cable should go next to the 4 pin power plug on hard drive Also ensure your BIOS is set to Auto detect of driives
Hello all. I have the same issue. My MB is 845G [P4 2.4 Ghz] and SATA harddisk I need to install is Seagate 250 GB Baracuda with 3.0Gb/s interface, I belive which makes this HD as SATA II. So for this motherboard should I prefer PCI cards which support SATA II over the supports SATA I [these are cheaper].
Check the SATA/RAID controller setting.
It could have been set to [Disabled]
Refer to your user?s manual for a detailed description on how to enable the onboard SATA/RAID controller by adjusting the jumper or BIOS settings.
