G4 Tower

By 2Pansy - usenet poster

Hi All help needed.

I have a G4 tower that is playing up and need advice, The tower specs
are 733 da with 1.25gb ram 60 gb hdd and 40gb hdd dvd rw. Running
tiger perfect. I want to fit a second monitor in the form of a 20
inch compaq monitor that i had in my closet. But for some reason when
i hook it up it does not work at all when i have the apple lcd
connected to the adc port on the graphics card. if i take the apple
lcd off the compaq runs fine, The lcd is a 17 inch apple cinema
display with adc that also works perfect on its own but for some
reason the mac will just not run both connected at once.

any advice on how to would be great many thanks vicki

The Rage 128s only had 16MB video ram and were stock in the 466 DAs
according to everymac.com. The 533, 667 and 733 had the GeForce 2mx
card with 32MB (thats what I got when I got my 533, and the reason I
got the 533 over the 466).

I do not know if the Rage supports 2 monitors and that may be the
problem. I know the GeForce does support 2.

You may need to pick up a pci video card for the second monitor.

What video card do you have? Some, even with 2 ports will only drive
one monitor at a time.
