I was given a computer with a homemade tower... I need to factory reset it but don't know how??

Basically you need the Windows installation CD plus the product installation code. Boot up with the Windows installation CD to install Windows on the hard disk, follow the on screen instructions - delete the existing Windows partition, create a new partition and format the new partition (full NTFS format - not a quick format) and continue with the installation.
Next you need to install the motherboard device drivers, you can download them from the motherboard manufacturer's WEB site from a computer with internet access. Copy these drivers onto an USB memory stick and insert this memory stick into you PC tower and install these drivers.
After installing these drivers you can now connect to the Internet to activate your Windows, You can activate Windows over the phone.

Constant beeps at start up

Probably a memory issue, if you have put new memory in check to see it is seated properly. You might even remove the memory and then reseat it. If you have multiple sticks of memory, put one stick in only and try to fire it up. If it works or fails, move to the next stick of memory. If it is one stick of memory and not a memory slot you should boot off of at least one stick. If it fails on every stick of memory, try a different slot. If this is all new memory, try the old memory; it could be a compatibilty issue.

When i put my memory stick in the computor tells me it is there, but dont know how to get my email address onto the memory stick

If your trying to save just the "email address" you'll need to type it in notepad or word first > save it to your memory stick.

Transferring data from old computer to new computer

If its connected to the internet email the files to yourself and then save to your new computer. If its not online, you could try taking out the hard drive, make it a slave in your new computer and moving the data from one drive to the other then take it out and good to go.

Problems loading image files onto memory stick pro duo

You probably emptied the memory stick in the download, if the OS sees the memory stick as a removable device then a simple drag and drop will put a copy of the files back on the stick. If MS not see by OS then you cannot get them back on. Trick is that the operating system must see the memory stick as a device to exchange data. Some programs allow retrevial but do not make provision for storing.

How do I transfer files from my old computer to my new computer using the memory stick I bought?

ok my friend its easy

just plug in the memory stick in the old computer and copy/paste files from the old computer to the memory stick (don't forget to look at the size the files might be over sized and the memory stick wont save them).

now after finishing the copy paste from the old computer to the memory stick, take the memory stick out and plug it in the new computer and copy/paste the files from the memory stick to the computer.

you may need to do these steps for few times if you have a large amount of data

cheers

Install new memory

Take the case off your computer. There are either 2 or 4 slots for memory. Depending on if all of your slots are full, you might need to remove your old memory in order to install the new memory. If all your slots are full, remove all the old memory. There are little switches on both sides of each memory stick. You will need to push the switches over in order to put the memory in the slots. Once you completed the installation, turn on your computer. Windows will automatically reconize the new memory.

Step by step instructions to put memory into laptop

FIRST UNPLUG THE LAPTOP AND TAKE OUT THE BATTERY.
Hold onto the laptop while you work with it to discharge any static electricity.
Take the cover off of the back that houses the memory. Remove the old memory and replace it with the new memory. You might have two slots for memory. If you do you can put two in at a time. There also might be a stick of memory under the keyboard. That is harder to do and I would advise you to leave it alone unliss you know exactly what you are doing. There are a lot of screws and tiny parts that can be lost and/or broken. Download the manual for the laptop and it should have the directions in it also.

Just want some more memory

Getting additional memory The below commands will help allow your computer to load programs into memory more efficiently allowing you to have more memory for MS-DOS programs / games.
Ensure you have the below three lines at the beginning of your config.sys file.
DEVICE=C:\Windows\HIMEM.SYS
DOS=HIGH,UMB
DEVICE=C:\Windows\EMM386.EXE NOEMS
By placing the DOS=HIGH,UMB on the second line, this can, in some cases, save memory because it is loading DOS into upper memory before loading the memory manager. Additionally, the first and third lines cannot be loaded into high memory because these lines are the memory managers.
Load all your devices in your config.sys and autoexec.bat into high memory.
