Follow the directions exactly:

If I am reading the manual correctly, here are the steps:

1) Press the "Menu" button.
2) Press the ">" key until you see the "Video" menu.
3) When "Video" is highlighted press the "OK" button.
4) Then use the "V" button to go to the item you want to adjust.
5) Use the "<" or ">" buttons to adjust that item to the desired setting.
6) Press "OK" to exit.

Hi,
Your TV has few factory presets picture modes. If you want to adjust picture settings you need to select custom mode to adjust color, contrast, brightness etc as per desire.

Plano tv samsung

Adjust the brightness until it starts making the black in the picture slightly milks and back it off slightly
Adjust the contrast so that the whitest whites show detail, too much contrast and they disappear
Adjust colour to suit, start with it half way, look at flesh tones on a news reader as a guide and adjust sharpness so you can see detail but not so that there are false or visible edges around things

I find the colour contrast is very dark could you send me ideal colour settings for perfect clarity thanks

Hello
Adjust the contrast to 55 to 70%; brightness to 45 to 55% and colour to your viewing taste. Now the brightness will be very low I thinks. Advance the brightness and contrast after setiing the colour to Zero. Adjust for a well defined B/W picture first. The advance the coulour. Take reference of the face colour of a news reader at studio. The picture will be perfect. OK.

I need the picture settings for a trutech tv. For example : number for contrast .

Hello
The picture setting for any TV depends upon the taste of the viewer. Contrast is the deepness of details in black and grey level. In most TVs a 55 to 75% of contrast will give a good picture. you have to adjust the brightness level also according to contrast. It is best ot turn out colour to 0% first. Adjust contrast and brightness to get a well detailed B/W picture first. The apply enough colour to that B/W picture according to your taste. Face colour of a newsreader at studio will be the best reference to intensity of colour.OK.

The best picture setting

First adjust the contrast & then brightness in such a manner that there just picture detailing. Adjust these controls especially on hair details of the person in the picture. The adjustment should be soft on eyes. Colour shall be adjusted for colour of an Indian should look. If your TV has ambiance sensor, then there is no need to change the settings in day & night.

Display problem

the adjustment box for colour, brightness and contrast stays fixed on the screen. i tried pressing the exit button.... after a few times it disappears only to reappear within a few minutes. also the auto adjustment option, for which we are supposed to manually press the i button, keeps auto adjusting the screen whenever it feels like it. the box appears right in middle of the screen and is a real nuisance as it blocks out the main portion.

it depends on what your using it for, adjust colour tones to what you think looks natural, contrast between 80-90, keep sharpness below 30. just have a play around till you find what best suits the source material.
