Hi - tried that before anything else! I have 3 sticks - so the chances are the seller gave me the wrong memory.
I'm sending it back, which is very inconvenient and i am cross as i specified exactly what i needed it for!

As long as the 512MB RAM chip is running at 133Mhz it should work, it may have compatibility issues with the other RAM in the unit. Try removing the other RAM first if it does not work after that you probably have a faulty piece of memory.

I just got a used e-mac A1002 (1 Ghz/128/60/combo 56K. It has Mac OS X 10.3.3 installed. I'm having problems signing into G-mail. Facebook also appears as just text. As well, can't seem to play...

I would try and find the OS X Tiger installation disks off of eBay, and install Tiger so that you can at least install Firefox, even if it's an older version. Your computer won't be able to run much, because of the limited RAM, and the fact that the processor is extremely slow.

I just install 1.5 GB in my Powermac Quicksilver G4 and now it won't power on. What's wrong?

Make sure access door is closed and latched completely & try pulling power cable for 30 sec then reattach and try restart. If those don't work - contact macsales.com (excellent Apple/Mac folks)

How do I add more memory to my iMac G5, 2004

Apple has made a support guide for this: Apple Support Guide.
The memory you are looking for is going to be; DDR2 SDRAM / 240-pin / 533 MHz / PC2-4200
The support guide shows you how to install the RAM into the iMac G5.

Looks like it is pretty simple to install ram on the iMac g4. Here are screen shots from the imac manual that describes the process. (see below)

Computer has become verly slow

I know this will sound very basic, so bear with me, but have you tried shutting down your Mac, leaving it completely off for 10 seconds or more, then restarting? My Mac (same model) bogs down now and then, and I find that shutting down (not just restarting) seems to clear things up right away.

IMac G4 freeze on new HDD fresh install

Who did the installation? Seagates are highly recommended. Ive replaced countless hard drives and optical drives in those models. It appears the machine is having some sort of kernel panic, or the video card is not properly displaying graphics on the monitor. You should be getting some kind of icon on the display upon boot up. If the machine has anew drive with no OS, then you should be getting the flashing question mark/picasso face folder. You should start up from the optical drive..cd or dvd, and walk through the installation process. The drive need not be formatted before you install, because you can do that from disk utility before the installation.

The most common reason this may happen with this model, is users for get to set the MASTER jumper on the drive. Seagate barracuda's are set to CABLE SELECT fresh out of the anti static bag. Ideally the machine is supposed to recognize this, but if the drive has nothing on it, or no OS, it will not take heirarchy over the optical drive. Both the hard drive and cd drive are on the same bus, this is why the IDE ribbon cable runs to both. You need to open the machine and verify that drive is set to MASTER. The diagram is on teh top of the drive, but with SEAGATE's, if your'e looking directly at the jumpers, IDE pins on lefts, molex power on right, it should be all the way to the left.

ALso, Being comfortable is good, I am myself with 98% of machintosh systems out there, but this mopdel is really compact, and you need to make sure the airport cable is not strained, the on board ram stick does not come loose, and the LVDS monitor cable does not get tugged on. Also be careful of the ground wire ands other loose cables when reassembling the unit, as not to pinch any of them.

I hope this helps, and keep me posted.
