Check your thermostat, could be set to the coldest setting and it is not cutting off.

Dometic AC cycles on and off

sounds like you don't have enough of a charge in the system of "free-on". that would make the a/c cycle and cycle to try and keep the pressure up and would also contribute to the lines frosting and freezing

If your coil is freezing at night, it sounds like your getting cold enough at night to have your saturation temperature drop below the design of what the AC is able to do. If it runs all day without an issue and freezes up at night, you need to add what is called an outdoor fan cycling switch. This will turn the condenser fan off when the saturation temperature drops so it will not freeze your coil at night. You need to have an HVAC technician install this. It is not a DIY projuect since it has adjustments that need to be right. Plus, it it's a heat pump, it needs to drop the switch off in the winter.

if your system is a heat pump you can switch to heat and see if coil outside gets cold while indoor blows warm air - then switch back to a/c - both coils should not be cold at the same time - low freon pressure / dirty coil / dirty filter / low air flow causes freezing

Ac unit keeps freezing up owner says only at night

A/C's freeze up due to low air flow or low refrigerant charge. Check your air filter and make sure all your registers and vents are open and not blocked. You may need a service tech.

Brand new Dometic rooftop ac,freezes up at night, does fine during day...??

This is common for most air conditioners and is normal due to humidity levels being higher at night causing more condensation build up and then freezing. Solution: Turn down thermostat at night to allow compressor to turn on and off.

My AC unit keeps freezing up on the copper lines going into the house from the outside unit. It also freezes up on the inside lines and the air is not cooling my home down.

Operate your air conditioner with the fan in the on position. But first turn the fan on, turn the temp up or shut the cooling off. Your coil is more than likely frozen over. At night when outside temperature drops the refrigerant pressure and temperature in the system also drops. This action can cause icing of the cooling coil, with the fan in automatic everything shuts down at the end of a cooling cycle. Thus no air movement to melt ice on previous cooling cycle.
