IF THERE IS NO PRIMER BULB, THEN ONE LINE GOES INTO THE TANK AND IS ATTACHED TO THE INLET FUEL FILTER AND THEN TO THE LOWER CARB PORT. THERE WILL BE A SECOND LINE GOING TO THE UPPER CARB DIAPHRAGM AND THROUGH AN OPENING TO THE CRANKCASE VENT. THE VENT IS JUST BELOW THE CARBURETOR INTAKE HOSE. THE TANK ITSELF ALSO HAS A SECOND ONE WAY CHECK VALVE ATTACHED TO A HOSE AND ALOWS AIR INTO THE TANK.

My name is Dennis and I'll try to be of assistance.
1) There is a primer line kit that is of smaller diameter and it goes from the primer bulb to the tank and terminates at the fuel pick-up assembly. There is also another smaller diameter line that goes from the primer bulb to the carburetor.
2) There is also a fuel line kit that is of larger line diameter that goes from the carburetor to the fuel tank.
That's a total of three lines Tank to bulb and bulb to carburetor two lines four places to connect. and tank to carburetor that is the third line and the remaining places to connect the second place at the tank and tha last at the carburetor.
Glad to be of assistance. Please rate the solution because I can learn from your rating.
Thank you
Dennis

My poulan saw keeps stalling and has no power

Check the fuel filter, air filter, and muffler for clogging. Check the fuel lines for condition. The carburetor may need cleaning and re-kit. Make sure the chain is being properly oiled and sharpened. Good luck!

All my fuel lines fell apart. I do not know where they go.

All Poulans are similar, I am forced to believe your saw is a "2375 Type MyBestGuess".
An example IPL for a Poulan "2375 Gas Chain Saw Type 7" follows (may not be your saw):
The IPL (exploded parts list) for your saw is the only detail for fuel line routing and it is sketchy at best. Fuel components and part numbers are listed but may be on different illustrations. They are also beneficial with disassembly/reassembly: It is deceptive it appears the filtered line goes to the primer, it doe not! It connects to the carburetor input. Trace your existing lines and they will bear my fuel schematic out.

A typical fuel system and a couple of hints can be found here:

If your saw is not a Type 7, you can find the correct IPL here:
Poulan.com

The dash number of your serial number is the type.

I need to change the gas hoses for my Poulan 221

As I promised Felix an IPL for a Poulan "PP221 Gas Chain Saw Type 4" follows (may not be your saw):

They are also beneficial with disassembly/reassembly: It is deceptive it appears the filtered line goes to the primer, it doe not! It connects to the carburetor input. Fuel line routing

A typical fuel system and a couple of suggestions follow:
http://www.fixya.com/support/r3706813-2_cycle_fuel_system_repair

An example of an IPL for a "2055 Gas Chain Saw Type 7" follows (may not be your saw):
http://www.ordertree.com/modelinfo/PWE/2055-Gas-Chain-Saw-Type-7/75.2055-Gas-Chain-Saw-Type-7.1.59.1.html

If not your saw, yours can be found here:
Poulan.com
http://www.ordertree.com/modelinfo/POULAN-WEED-EATER/75.59.html
The dash number of your serial number is the type.
I am reasonably sure the upper most carburetor connection (it bleeds any air in the carburetor, air rises) goes to the primer. Leave the hoses long enough to swap them and try it. They can be shortened once you verify the correct routing. Good Luck. HTH

Fuel lines have rotted off. need to replace then

Mr Tittle;
It isn't good but it's all there is.
What little fuel system system detail there is can be found here:
Poulan.com
http://www.ordertree.com/modelinfo/POULAN-WEED-EATER/75.59.html
If it is a 2375 WildThing find 2375LE Gas Saw Type ?. The last digit of your serial number should be a -1 or -2, the type.

Fuel Line Replacement by SmallEng.com

  • The filtered hose from the fuel tank connects directly to the carburetor input connection.
  • If the saw is equipped with a primer, the output line from the carburetor connects to the suction side of the primer bulb (once the bulb is collapsed it draws fuel from the tank through the carburetor to refill the bulb as the bulb reinflates).
  • The pressure side of the primer returns any excess fuel to the tank as it is depressed.

Find the model of your saw and open the IPL and handle assembly drawing here:
Poulan.com
http://www.ordertree.com/modelinfo/POULAN-WEED-EATER/75.59.html
This is as good as fuel routing gets!!! If this isn't sufficient Find your nearest Poulan repair facility or try your friendly neighborhood chainsaw seller/mechanic. Resubmitting this question won't get any better answer. HTH

Fuel line has come lose for the chain saw. And dont know how to put it back in

You give this same answer for every fuel line replacement but what is the real trick to getting the fuel line back 'into' the tank, especially in a Poulan where there is no soft rubber grommet that will expand..
