Question about Canon Office Equipment & Supplies

1 Answer

I have a Canon printer S600 which I have used alot and it gives the best color of any printer that I have seen. The color is now off a little, it has too much brown in it and at the end of the page there will be aline running all across the picture. I have done the maintnce of cleaning and deep cleaning and the alignment, but nothing has helped. Any suggestions? Thank-you, Cheryl Du Long. sewlong@midmaine.com

I take it, it comes out like a sepia color, I have had this to be down to the Logic Board, To be honest it would be best to look at a I9950 but is now a old product so i would maybe start looking at the pro9000. These are both very good products and perform very well.

Hope this helps

My Canon MG6120, which worked on wifi fine for months, now doesn't. It still works with USB connection, but that's not the point of a wifi printer! How can I fix this?

First check with another device that your wifi is working if it is try resetting up wifi on your printer.

If someone changed your wifi password you will need to enter the new password.

Is the color stylewriter 2500 just a copier?

Just a printer but could be used as a fax printer if combined with the fax software of Windows XP or winfax for Mac.

The Color StyleWriter 2500 is a color inkjet printer manufactured and sold by Apple in 1996. It was based on a Canon-developed Bubble Jet printer, but was repackaged with a new housing, firmware, and Apple's proprietary 8-pin mini-DIN serial port. The printer is similar in appearance and functionality to the StyleWriter 2400, but featured faster printing speeds: 5 PPM black, 0.66 color, vs the 2400's 3 PPM black, 0.3 color. As with the 2400, the 2500 was compatible with the Apple Pippin console gaming system. Apple offered LocalTalk and EtherTalk networking upgrades in the form of external print server devices. Also offered was a "PhotoGrade" kit, which included a special monobloc (heads and ink in one unit) cartridge with lighter photo-oriented inks and coated paper.

MACHINE GIVE ERROR CODE 5100?

I have worked on tons of printers. This particular error had stumped me for a while, but I finally found the cause. As others had pointed out before, it can have alot to do with some obstruction in the print path, the gears, or ink on the clear plastic encoder strip. You're on the right track - I found the the purge cap (the white sliding mechanism that the print head parks to when it's not in use) was not lubricated well enough from factory. If you lubricate the sliders with some white grease (don't get it on the small wipers or the black caps) the mechanism can now slide more freely, and the unit can park the head properly without giving you the dreaded head homing error 5100. Keep in mind that this repair will probably require you to remove the right panel off of the printer to gain access to the purge mechanism. There are two screws behind the printer, and two in front for each corrosponding side panel (the front screws are behind the grey front panel of the printer - open the top cover to see the clips which hold the front cover on) Hope this helps some of you out.

it will give you a break if the tires are not worn out. Look and feel if they are smooth, if they are smooth and shiny then replace otherwise clean with alcohol.

good luck
