Can the bose lifestyle sa-1 amplifier be installed as stand alone?

Is it possible to set this amp up with simply an iPod/iphone etc as the sound source, connected to its own set of speakers?

SOURCE: Bose amplifier does not work with a 6 speaker selector

your wall speakers may not be connected.... disconnect each speaker from the selector box and test with a small AAA battery to see if they are connected by putting the battery between each speaker's wires , you will hear it crackle ,then gradually connect each wall speaker onto the speaker connector box . If the first set does not work i suggest there may be a problem with your speaker selector box . Good luck

SOURCE: we have just installed a Bose lifestyle system,

Make sure you unplug your sa 2 and sa3 amplifiers after setting the codes. Wait at least 60 seconds, then plug back in. I would also unplug the in and out boselink cables as well. Once youve waited for a minute, then plug everything back in. Should work. If not, call Bose technical support. They are really great. I have 15 SA 3 amplifiers throughout my home. They are great.

Bose lifestyle 50 systemhi, I have a lifestyle 50 with 3 sets of outdoor speakers all with an SA-3 amp. It used to function properly but now only the left side functions the right side is either very low...

Use only a BOSE cable. I used to have one and it was a pain when it came to the cables. Only worked with original equipment replacements. You can get your users manual from Bose in Adobe PDF format for free.

If it has a tape/aux imput/output yes!
All you need is to connect suitable cables between them.
If your computer has jack sockets and the amp RCA type, use the type shown below:

Bose SA-3 amp and a non bose sub.. I keep blowing the amp..

How many ohms is your sub? The SA 3 Amp can only handle speaker(s) 6 ohms and greater. A lot of subs, as I understand, are 2 and 4 ohms typically. If yours is 2 or 4 ohms, then that explains it. The speaker would be "straining" your amplifier and blowing it.

Increase output of Lifestyle 18

apologies mate but what you hear at maximum volume (set volume to 99) is what the system can generate... The Lifestyle system are designed as stand-alone out-of-the box system and like other systems will only perform to their defined level. The only way is by using the AUX out (located behind the DVD/media center and connect either a pwoered loudspeaker or another amplifier (note that the output is fixed line so choose an amplifier with volume setting knob). with multiple loudspeaker of your choice. You may also go and buy expansions speakers from Bose itself

Again, glad to be of service...
