Question about LG KU990 Viewty
I have had my viewty for a while and its been great but have recently got a new laptop which is running Vista not XP. I now can't get my photos off my phone as the pc suite doesn't seem to be responding. I have tried the bluetooth and the usb options and have managed to connect with both but everytime I click on the contents button in tools nothing happens. I have also tried going through the Computer itself, but that goes nowhere, it doesn't even open. Not sure whether the software is compatible with Vista or not? Help please!!
I had the same problem where i could not access the pictures etc off my viewty using a Vista laptop.
Now, assuming you guys are not bothered about the photo suite software itself, you can set the Viewty up to act as a mass data storage device (i.e. usb dongle etc). This enables you to view the full content of your Viewty, without using the **** LG software..
To do this...
1: Open up "Phone Settings"
2: Select "Connectivity"
3: Select "USB Connection Mode"
4: Select "Mass Storage"
5: Confirm by pressing "Select" at the bottom of the screen.
6: Return to home screen and connect to PC.
7: If PC does not automatically find the data, go to "My Computer" and look for a "Removable Storage Device"
If all goes well, you should have access to all your files!

I have a viewty and cant use the PC Suite, but can download photos via bluetooth to my PC running Vista. Mark the photos you want to download, 20 max, click on the little page icon in the bottom left of the screen, click send, click bluetooth and as long as your pc is paired with your phone, (you should do that first!) then the photos just start to download to your pc. Then a balloon comes on the pc telling you where it has saved your pics.

This might not work for everyone but it did for me.
Right click the desktop link and choose Properties. Then click the tab that says Compatability. Change the Compatability Mode to Windows XP then click Apply and OK.
Open the programme first before you connect your phone, make sure your bluetooth is turned off on your Viewty before connecting it. Then plug the phone in and it should work.

Use a micro SD card, make sure you change the settings on your phone to save all photos to external memory. Then when you want to transfer them take out the memory card and connect to your pc with an SD micro adaptor. The photo come up and you can save them to your computer.
To be honest it is a pain in the *** but it's better than not being able to get your photos at all!!!

I have the same problem. i asked the company of LG and they sent back an e-mail saying that the LG viewty phone is not compatible with windows vista. so if you try to open the contents folder to acces your pitcures, it wont work on vista but they said you can put all your photos and things on a phone memory card and then transfer all your things to the computer. i havnt tried it. but hopefully it will work.

Open the containing folder where your setup software is located.
Stay on it and click right.
choose run as administrator.
When you get a warning message click yes.
This way the Vista let you instal the sofwaread drivers.
I tested on vista and windows ultimate 7.
and I have no problems and no troubles its work fine
as the software should be.
At the moment I use Windows Ultimate 7 RC.
And here again there no problems to install the LG
software and drivers.
Its possible to use the internet connection via Bluethoot LG KU990. Also this work fine and its fast too.
I hope this will help.

I found solution 4 worked a treat so thanks very much! At first I thought it hadn't but it was because I had tried solution 2 first and hadn't put the settings back to what they originally were. when I had done that it worked fine. I can't sync my phone, but that doesn't seem to matter. I can access the music and whatnot so far, tho haven't tried photos etc yet..

click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
