Zenith factory reset

Hi Rebecca,

Specific reset instructions will vary depending on the model of your Zenith television. For many Zenith TVs you can reset to manufacturer defaults by pressing 'Menu' then press '9, 8, 7, 6, Enter.' If this doesn't work for your set, try a hard reset: unplug your television and leave it unplugged for at least 4 hours.

You can also try this:
Instructions
    • 1 Press the "Menu" button on your remote control. Use the up and down arrow buttons to highlight the video option. Press the arrow that points to the right to select the video option.
    • 2 Use the up and down arrow to highlight the video reset option. Push the right arrow button on the remote control to select video reset.
    • 3 Press the right arrow button on the remote control to return the video to original values.

Hi CindyCee,

Have a hitachi rear projection 50" TV (model# 50EX12BA). The screen gets dark when it gets dark in the room where the TV is (but it brightens if a light near the TV is turned on). Also, the colors...

From what i can find, you need to adjust the convergence of the individual projectors. One person said you need to adjust them once a month for optimal conditions, but also said once a year will suffice. I have an extra blue image, and although i was able to clean i dont know how many years of grime off the lenses and the mirror, i lack a remote that will operate the menu. I only have one universal remote by RCA that will operate the channels and volume, but not the input (im using S video input) nor the menu functions. You may have to buy a Hitachi remote (1-800-Remotes wants $40 for it), but i will try to get a better universal one and will post back if i have success.
