Question about HP LaserJet 3330 All-In-One Printer
I have the following setup:
HP LaserJet 3330 All-in-one printer
Asus WL-500g Deluxe router
Home network with Win XP computers
The printer is set up as a network printer connected to the USB port on the router. Worked perfectly for years, no problem. Even at times when the computers are having network issues and can't see each other, there was never a problem with any computer on the network printing.
Suddenly the printer stopped responding to any computer trying to print. Each time there is a printer timeout error.
The printer is still visible to the network. I deleted the printer from my list and then used the "add new printer" wizard. Windows correctly detected and re-installed the network printer. But attempts to print a test page fail.
Yes, I have turned the printer and router on and off many times. But still no joy. The printer drivers are all the current ones.
No settings were changed. The only thing different about the computers that try to print, since yesterday, was the latest set of Windows updates.
I am EXTREMELY reluctant to uninstall Windows updates, since I had a major bad experience once doing so. It made such a mess that I couldn't even reboot and had to reinstall the entire Windows OS all over again. So I will not try that as a solution.
Any help will be greatly appreciated!
Try disabling the firewall on your computers. You may also try to do a system restore prior to installing the windows update and check if you will be able to print.
