A temporary printing error occurred. 1. Turn the product off and then on. 2. Remove any third-party memory or USB device, and then turn the product off and then on. 3. Remove and then reinstall the formatter. (the formatter is the logic board) 4. If the error persists, remove the formatter and perform an engine test***. If the engine test page fails to print,replace the DC controller. If the engine test page prints, replace the formatter.
***engine test To verify that the product engine (all product components except the formatter, formatter DIMMs, EIO products, and the stacker or stapler/stacker) is functioning, print an engine-test page. Use a small, non-metallic, pointed object to depress the test-page switch, which is accessible through a slot in the right-side cover. The test page should have a series of horizontal lines. A damaged formatter might interfere with the engine test. If the engine-test page does not print, try removing the formatter and performing the engine test again. If the engine test is then successful, the problem is almost certainly with the formatter, the control panel, or the cable that connects them.
Do you refill ink tank? Print blank pages. Is there horizontal lines appear? It might be caused bay ink leakage. Check respiratory hole at ink tank and rubber seal at bottom of ink tank. Print blank pages until no horizontal lines and try to use new ink tank.

When troubleshooting image quality problems, it is important to understand the situations in which the problem occurs.
Print a copy of the color test pages to determine whether the problem is in one color or more than one color.
Press the [Up] or [Down] arrow button on the Control Panel to select [Troubleshooting] on the Display Screen, and then press the [OK] button.
Press the [Up] or [Down] arrow button to select [Print Quality Problems], and then press the [OK] button.
Press the [Up] or [Down] arrow button to select [Color Test Pages], and then press the [OK] button to print the test pages. If the problem occurs with one color on the test pages, perform the solutions for this problem. If the problem occurs in more than one color on the test pages, restart your search and select a case for the image quality problem occurring through all colors.

1. Check the end of life for each of
the consumables by printing the
supplies usage page. From the front panel’s Printable Pages Menu, select
Print Supplies Page.
2. Run the solid fill test pages; From the front panel’s Printable Pages Menu,
select Service Pages, then select Print Solid Fill Pages. If the missing bands
only occur in a single primary color, replace the print cartridge of the affected

5. Run the Remove Print Smears routine. From the front panel’s Support Menu,

6. Replace the Developer Housing Assembly (RRP 27, on page 7-171).
7. Remove the print cartridge and (with a flashlight) check for debris along the
edge of the developer housing.

I need to know if this is a sudden occurence or has it happened before. Is cartridge new or refilled or older, and did it print right until now. Also need to know if you have made any recent system changes and if you run anti virus and spyware.
