Question about HP Pavilion zd7000 zx5000 zv5000 presario 3000,R3000 Series 120W Laptop AC Adapter-360699-001 CD-ROM Drive
My daughter's laptop will not turn on. A blue lightning bolt blinks when it is plugged into the outlet. Briefly, when I pressed the power button, a black screen with one letters appeared and then disappeared. It said something about windows but it didn't stay up long enough for me to write anything down. I don't want to spend a lot of time or money on this since I have a newer laptop that I can give her. However, she has files on the old laptop that I would like to get off if possible. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
If you are only looking to get the files off the hard drive simply remove it and daisy chain it to a desktop. On the bottom side of the laptop there are two screws marked by a symbol that looks like three cd stacked up on top of each other. Remove the screws and cover, the hard drive in on the underside of the cover.
