There is no reset on the T-31 chest straps and transmitters. If the battery is functioning then you simply put it around your chest (make sure the contacts are wet) and turn on the watch. A heart rate signal should appear automatically.
If this doesn't work, I have solutions in my tips and tricks page as well as Manuals for Polar products. The T-31 battery may also be dead, in which case you will need to replace.
The picture you have showing is for a S-Series Speed sensor for the Bike. If this is something you are having a problem with feel free to send me a note related to the problem.

Probably because the instructions were wrong - to set the clock you first have to press the big blue button "A" on the face for 2 secs, the use a pen to depress the silver recessed button "D" on left side to get past the 12/24 display, then depress the "D" button (not the "A" button as the instructions said) to set the clock.
To set pulse, press "A" two secs.
Press it again to bypass recall mode.
Now enter upper bound: pressing "D" constantly/intermittently as it falls to desired level. Press A to store.
Now enter lower bound: press "D" again til it rises to correct level.
If you overshoot it just comes round again.
I'm entering this here for when I lose my instruction sheet too!
The "B" button top right is the stopwatch/reset/start/stop - press to clear.
The "C" button lower right is the nitelite, and not recommended you use it more than 30 sec total/day.
Yes when you are in time mode press the mode button 5 times this will be your calorie screen press the st/stp button to activate the calorie counter you will see in the bottom left corner it says CA ( meaning calories) and in the bottom right crn are the calories you are burning press the st/stp button again to stop then reset when you want to start again.Hope this helps can you help me? I keep pressing the sensor buttons and my heart rate does not appear what am I doing wrong ? Ive read my instructios inside out even returned the watch and got another but the same thing keeps happening ! Initial when I set the watch up it works then I just cant seem to get my heart rate to appear ????????? Thanks Nicole
You do not have the right model number. For some reason, Polar puts the CE0537 in big numbers on the back of the case. The real model number on my unit was in very light engraving right above the words "Polar Electro" on the back of the case. Looks like they have an engraving problem where both the model and serial number are very hard to read. If it helps, my model was S120 and I found the manual quickly on the polar site. The polar site also has the location of model numbers in their FAQ area.
