Samson Stereo Headphones RH100 - no more sound

I bought my headphones a few years ago and they just stopped working. No more sound, in any stereo of the appartement. Can you suggest me something to repair them?

    Wire is not damaged.

    No volume on the headphones.

    PC volume is ok.

It doesn't work either on my soundsystems.

    Thanks!

First u have to check the wire from pc to headphone whether any wire is damaged ,next u check whether the volume in the headphone is mute, and then check the pc volume whether it is in mute .rate as u like

I bought an Auvio wireless headphones for my dad his RCA flat is giving me problems to make they work If I do conectadod them to the headset device they work but the TV does not sound just the headli

The tv might not have a audio input driver installed. This happened to me it might say "not supported". When the driver is installed then the headphones can communicate with the tv. If there is no driver then they can not communicate.

Why do I only hear static

Hi Cathy.. it sounds like you might be connected to the wrong jacks instead of the output that the headphones need.

Most high quality stereo headphones have a single 1/4" stereo plug that would readily plug into a 1/4" jack on the front of the stereo labeled "PHONES" or HEADPHONES".

Many lower quality "computer headphones" or headsets have two 1/8" plugs. One is often black or red and is for an included microphone that may be a boom type (shown below) connected to one of the speakers or an "in-line" type built into the cord itself. The headphone speakers in the headset get their signal from the other plug - which is usually green; but could be any color really. There should be 3 metal parts on the stereo headphone plug. The tip, the middle ring and the bottom ring. Many times the mic is mono (not stereo) and only has only a tip and a bottom ring on the plug. You can see stereo headphone and microphone plugs he picture below:

Computer Headphones or "Headset" with mic and phone plugs.

Your Yamaha stereo will probably NOT have 1/8" jacks to directly plug the headphone into. You can buy an adapter that you would plug your headphones into and then plug the adapter into the 1/4" jack on the stereo. One is pictured below:

Front and rear views of a "1/4" to 1/8" Stereo Adapter Plug" The front plugs into the stereo and the the smaller 1/8" headphones plug into the rear.

I hope this helps & good luck!

SkullCandy headphones have a lifetime limited warranty (that's usually a 10 year warranty). You should be able to get it repaired by visiting this page and following the instructions: http://www.skullcandy.com/warranty-information.html
If you purchased them used or from a friend or something, or you don't have proof of purchase (if you bought them online you can usually print out a receipt from the e-tailer), then SkullCandy will probably not repair them for you [sucks, I know, but there's nothing I can do about that].

The SC-PRODJ4 is about $130. Best price I could find was on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/o/ASIN/B001E1EV40/ebusinesslead-20

Good luck! Hopefully you can get your headphones repaired for free or cheap!

Panassonic PR-HTX& head phones: both sides of the head phone work at the same volume. but with no stereo. all sounds come equally through both sides. I've opened them up and all the wires are...

That particular set of headphones are definitely a stereo set. This means the problem is with 3rd party hardware. If your using a jack adaptor it will need to support stereo. If you are using the headphones with your computer you need to make sure that the sound card and software all support and have stereo enabled. Manufacturer will not make a mistake like wiring in-correctly ;)

The fault is in the cable: you will have to dismantle the left speaker housing and start cutting from the cable until the break is removed then solder it back to the speaker - use an multimeter to check the continuity of the wires.

I have an older magnavox t.v. I bought these

Check the set up or sound menus on the TV you may find a setting for internal speakers on/off. Or some thing of that nature. Most TVs even of that vintage were set up for the fledgling home theater systems. My Hitachi has this ability so I can mute the TV speakers so they don't interfere with the home stereo Amp. But the output on the back of the TV still has controllable audio out.

Hope this is of some help.

No sound from the TV when the headphones are plugged in.

if you have a stereo unit(am+fm reciever) that has output to speakers, connect the out jack of the tv to input on back of stereo unit(aux in or cd input) then you can have output to headphone and speakers also.
