What model camera are you using? Normally, once connected, unless the camera has settings for print size and other options the printer will print whatever the default size is.

Here is a link for the Direct Print guide if you don't already have it:

It's not unusual for certain features to be unavailable when mixing different brands. Print size may be one of them in this combination.

How can i date stamp images?

The camera stores the date and time (and a lot more) with every photo. However, it will not deface your photos by scrawling numbers over them. You can choose to print the date with the photo when you print. If you print from the camera using PictBridge, choose the Standard setting. Details are in the "Direct Printing (PictBridge)" section of the camera manual (page 38 in my copy). If you use a printing program on a computer, please refer to the documentation for that program.

If you need a manual for the camera, you can download one from the manufacturer's web site at

How do I print pictures from my camera on the computer(pictbridge)?

The camera compares its PictBridge functions to the functions of the printer. The camera then displays the supported functions on menus on the LCD screen or in the viewfinder.
PictBridge print options

Once a PictBridge digital camera is connected to a compliant printer, print options appear on the camera LCD. The camera menu system is used to make settings such as print size, layout, media type and date.

You can print a single image displayed on the camera, print two or more images or print all images on the memory card. You can print part of an image by first cropping it within the camera and even create index prints, also known as contact sheets.
Print sizes and PictBridge

Not all PictBridge digital cameras let you select all available prints sizes, such as 13×19? if you have a wide format printer. If the printer has a memory card slot, use it and larger size prints should be available.
Is your device PictBridge compatible?

To find out if a camera or printer is PictBridge compatible, look for the PictBridge logo on the packaging or check the manual for specifications. If still unsure, call the manufacturer!

Is my canon pixma ip4500 wifi

Nope. Uses "PictBridge" for printing directly from an infrared-enabled camera phone (with PictBridge ready phone and proper cable). Also print directly from a PictBridge ready digital camera/DV camcorder.

It won't recognise my camera when plugged in.

Both of these units are PictBridge certified, so they should be able to communicate with each other. Be sure that your camera is set up to communicate using the PictBridge protocol. See this link, and view the PictBridge Printer Instruction Manual, page 2, to set the camera up.
