Electrical fault on touch sensitive bed side lights

We have 2 bed side lamps fitted in each of 2 bedrooms. They are all of the touch sensitive switching type, fitted with conventional tungsten bulbs and provide a range of light intensity from low to medium to high.
They were all purchased from B&Q stores about 18 months ago and have been problem free until last month.
Recently they have dispalyed erratic behaviour of self illuminating and sequentially flashing without any human or physical contact. In one instance all four lamps were flashing simultaneously.
I suspected the cause to be an electricity power surge and fitted an inline power surge protector to the lamps. This device has been unsuccessful as the problem has occured again.
Another solution would be to fit in-line off/on switches but before doing that I would like to know if you have a better solution.
Thank you in anticipation
Ben

My touch sensitive bedside lights turn on by themselves, sometimes because a ceiling fan in an adjacent room has been switched.

    Any suggestions?

Ok the problem you are experienceing is cause from supernatural forces dwelling in you abode. to solve this problem and remove any spirits you must...
Open all windows and doors.
Burn some sage in a shell and fan the sage smoke in all the corners of every room, hallway and closet.
Urge the spirts to leave peacefully and move on into the light.
Repeat in every room.
Close windows

You have now "smudged" your house and it is spiritually clean.

Have a trained technician to check the voltage going to the bed. If all bulbs / ballasts have same problem, this may be the problem. You may need a Buck/Booster.

When I worked Electrical in a Hardware store we were told by Nighthawk and f\First Alert and we told our customers that you want the detectors 4-6 feet off the floor never near a water heater or furnace since this can cause false alarms. The CO will rise, so one on each floor should be enough near a central stair if possible. Other wise make sure at least one is in the bedroom.

What does Multi-Gesture mean?

Multi-touch or multi-gesture, has been implemented in several different ways, depending on the size and type of interface. Both touchtables and touch walls project an image through acrylic or glass, and then back-light the image with LEDs. When a finger or an object touches the surface, causing the light to scatter, the reflection is caught with sensors or cameras that send the data to software which dictates response to the touch, depending on the type of reflection measured. Touch surfaces can also be made pressure-sensitive by the addition of a pressure-sensitive coating that flexes differently depending on how firmly it is pressed, altering the reflection.[2] Handheld technologies use a panel that carries an electrical charge. When a finger touches the screen, the touch disrupts the panel's electrical field. The disruption is registered and sent to the software, which then initiates a response to the gesture.[3]

Arc fault breaker trips sporadically

Are there any heaters anywhere in the circuit for this breaker? (ie: bathroom fan w/light and heater) If yes, I would suspect and inspect them first. Also, any type breaker will trip more easily if the electrical connection screws on the breaker are not tight enough...check to make sure that's not the case.

"Double" electrical switch has failed to function

In a standard 3-way switch arrangement you can turn the light on or off from each position.  If the wall switch has failed then only the bed switch will turn the light on/off.  Replace the wall switch with a new 3-way switch.

Our touch sensitive lamp no longer responds to touch

The sensors do not wear out as such, the fault probably is in the electronics and you should not attempt a repair unless you are suitably qualified as mains voltages are involved.
