Computer doesn't boot. Get 51 in the start screen

Error 51 means there are problems allocating resources to PCI bus.

To solve this you would have access the BIOS and set it to its default settings. Reboot the computer and the error should be gone.

If it's not then take out any cards that maybe in the PCI slots on the motherboard as you may have a faulty PCI card in the computer.

I want to test an ecs rs 482-m mother board. Where on the board are the pins for power-on, hd led, etc. located? Thanks

The power, hdd led and reset switch pins are at the bottom right hand corner of the motherboard near the BIOS battery.

The connections are fairly easy to plug up to but not knowing what case you have or the connector plugs i'm going to give you a link to download the manual for this motherboard.

Just click on the link below and when the page has loaded up click on the "Downloads" tab and download the manual. The information you need is in section 12 under the header "Front Panel Connector"

Problem with mother board P4VMM2 it doesn't work

Of course we can help you! The only thing is that computers are so complicated and the mother board is not the only part of them. Another difference bewteen what we had and what we have now is that the are digital and what we had before they were analog.
Now, to save us both time, I will need some information, so I can settup a mathematical model and duplicate your problem, so when we make suggestions we don't give you guesses, but facts.
I will need (1) the computer name, (2) the model number, (3) the mother board ID. Theinformation you gave us is not complete and not of use. If you need to doublecheck the numbers, you will find them, toward the bottom side of the MB, where there some white sockets (PCI). Usually they have three, but I have seen as many as five. In between these sockets is the MB ID number. You can't miss it because of the profound lettering. If it is not there, then they have moved it to the upper right corner of the MB. You will find the ID hidden around the RAM memory sockets.
We thank you for considering our service...

Mother board update

We will gladly help you update your BIOS. Whether it will be free, it is not up to me but up to Mercury Electronics. It is not going to be much, anyway. Before I can go to them I will need the Computer name, the Model Number and the precise MB ID. This you can find in between the white PCI sockets, the lettering is so profound that you can't miss it. If not there, check on the upper right corner of the MB, around the RAM memory sockets. Thanks for the consideration of our service. We can provide you what you want... We cannot just mail it to you. Unfortunately we need to give the MB manufacturer certain information before they will allow us to send it to you. The Computer name, Model number, Mother Board ID and your story of what exactly happened with all details. You can get everything except the MB ID, which is hidden within itself. You will find it in between the white PCI sockets; sometimes there three, other times four sockets. The Lettering is so profound you cannot miss it. If they changed place then look at the upper right hand corner of the RAM memory sockets. Thank you for your consideration of our service...

What I would like you to do is take off any additional cards that you have on the board (If any) All I want you to have hooked to the board is 1 stick of ram, the processor, keyboard, mouse, monitor, and power supply. If you have attached any of the USB connectors for your case disconnect them. (Do you have a processor fan or heatsink attached to the processor? If you do not make sure that you have one attached and that it is working.) Turn on the computer and enter the bios setup if you can get there and load the default settings. Save and exit the bios.

After doing these steps please tell me what it says on the screen when it freezes. Please be patient once it gets to the point where it normally freezes give it a minute to see if it goes anywhere.

Please be aware that these boards ar notorious for being DOA (Dead On Arrival) I personally have had 3 Elitegroup boards that were DOA when I got them (They came free with my processors when I boutght them new from Frys Electronics)

Let me know the result and what you see on the screen and I can assist in further troubleshooting.

Hi satiewe, no not you're CD. You'll need to enter the notebook's bios. How to get into the bios? Right after you press the power on button, start pressing the delete key every two seconds. The bios main menu should load. If pressing the delete key fail to load the bios menu, try again & press the F2 key every two seconds. The main menu will look like this:
1583ec1.jpg Look at the bottom of the menu & there are instructions on how to move about while in the bios. Go to the title, Advanced.
Listed to the right of; [PATA Primary Master : xxxxx] Where xxxxx is the model number of the hard drive, (Ex: ST80325B). Write this number/letter down. Than go to Boot .
Under boot is, Boot Device Priority. The normal order should be;
1st boot device, [floppy]
2nd boot device, [CD-ROM] - model name.
3rd boot device, [Hard disk drive]? The name of the drive was listed at the main menu as, Pata Primary Master (What you wrote down is what must show here). Than save the bios change & exit. The system will restart. If you placed the correct drive in the correct order you're system will start up.

Good Luck!
