Burned microwave smell how do you get ridd of the food smell

The best suggestion I have is to boil water for a half an hour. Be sure not to let the bowl of water run empty. Also, be sure to wipe the condensation out of the oven cavity after this procedure. Generally, though, continued regular use of the oven is what works best for this situation. It just takes time to get the burn smell out.... Good luck!

How do you start the self cleaning oven process on a kenmore stove purchased from Sears in 2009?

  1. Empty the Oven
    • Take everything out of the oven. Remove the racks and clean them with soap and water in the kitchen sink. Look for any loose debris such as foil or charred food and remove that as well.
    Oven Cleaning
    • To operate the self cleaning mode, find the switch on the range marked "Clean." The oven door will lock once the cleaning operation has started. Do not open the door until after the self-cleaning process has completed. It will take between two and three hours.
During the cleaning process, you may see and smell smoke. This is normal because the oven is operating at a higher temperature than when it is cooking. The high temperature is reducing all the organic matter in your oven to ash. You will also sometimes hear popping sounds from the oven that is caused by the expansion of metal under extreme heat. This is normal for a self-cleaning operation.
After the oven has completed the cleaning cycle, allow it to cool for a couple of hours. Once cool, take a damp dish cloth and remove the ash from the bottom of the oven. Wipe down the interior of the oven door and around the seal. Be careful around the seal so you do not damage it. Replace the racks back in your oven, and the cleaning operation is complete.
    Other Considerations
    • Clean your oven at least once every three months. If your oven gets heavy use, consider cleaning it once a month. Always run the self-cleaning cycle when you are home. Because it uses intense heat, it is best to perform this operation later in the evening or early in the morning.

This question is about a Whirlpool Gallery in-wall oven, purchased less than 1 year ago. We just ran the 3 hour self-cleaning cycle and now the oven is heating slowly and does not come up to full...

Does it appear both top and bottom elements are still working? If not, then one probably burned out. If your warranty is still valid, then exercise it immediately.

How do I use the self-cleaning function on my Whirlpool Super Capacity 465 self-cleaning oven?

If you just want to run the basic self-clean cycle. First remove the broiler pan and racks from the oven. Next clean any heavy spills up with a non-abrasive cleaner (do not use an oven cleaner). Clean the window of the oven door and the door frame (to the outside of the gasket). Then close the oven. If the oven has a touch-pad, press the Auto-clean pad on the oven followed by Start. The oven will automatically lock and then unlock when the oven has cooled after the cleaning cycle. (I'm less certain of the control settings for the dial type of oven control.)

In order to get your manual you need the full model number of the oven. This is on a plate located behind the storage door. This pdf,$FILE/4322089.pdf , gives you a picture of where the model and serial numbers are is on page 4 as well as some of the information contained in the serial number on the subsequent pages.

Once you have your model number, go to and enter the model number. This should let you get the manual specific to your oven.

I hope this helps.

Burning smell from Microwave

If you clean any appliances always plug out the unit power supply do spray any liquid in the unit that can enter inside the control, instead just wipe it with rug not spray. In this situation you have to call for a qualified technician. Maybe there are some wires that burned or rust in the control that cause the short circuit inside the unit..
