F63 on certain washers is an indication of too much soap is being used. If you live in an area where the water is hard and your not using too much soap you have a clog in one of the hoses used for air. Try to do a hot cycle with white vinegar. On other models the F63 is indicating that the water intake valve didn't find it's position. If this is the case just run an additional cycle.

Just thought I'd add some feedback here which may help someone (March 2013). We have a Miele Novotronic W1613 washing machine which developed a "Technical Error F63". I contacted Miele, and they told me that this required a "PC download" to fix - basically, updating the software in the washing machine. If you look at the front of the W1613, just below the Start button is what looks like a little glass LED, labelled "PC". This is a fibre-optic link access to the washing machine's processor. Miele very kindly agreed to fix the machine free of charge (we were actually a few days out of the two-year warranty). The engineer used a suction cup to connect a fibre-optic link to his PC, and updated the machine's software. This solved the problem! Obviously, this is not the sort of problem that can be fixed by yourself...

I had this error on my Miele W1730 washer. Having read the above, I opened the front access drain flap with my wet vac at the ready and sucked out the small amount of residual water that's there after each cycle. There were three coins obstructing the pump impeller. Solved.

either the controller is not working or the inlet valve is bad .could also be the pressure switch that tells the machine when it is full enough

Miele Fault Code F84

Slide Shutter Positioning Fault
Miele Fault Codes

If a F84 is displayed (Slide shutter positioning fault)
The electronic board is unable to read the position of the slide shutter through the position switch. This fault is displayed when attempts to position the slide shutter have failed. See F63 (Slide shutter fault) for troubleshooting steps.
Miele G1000 Technical Information Page 219

Occasionally our Miele Dishwasher pops up with a F84 error mid-cycle and stops. I've checked filters, discharge pipes, etc.
An post in the Whirlpool archives had links which suggested the fault was to due to an internal "slide shutter valve".

I finally found a small object lodged in the ball-check-valve on the discharge of the water pump. Once removed all has been ok.
To access the check valve, remove the screen at the bottom of the unit. under the screen to the left of the water well is the cover of the pump. It has two small plastic "leaves". grasp, squeeze together, and push to the right, towards the centre of the water well. You will have removed the pump discharge and within it are rubber seals and a stainless steel ball. You can peel out the black rubber seal remove gunk and refit. Take care not to damage the seal and to replace it fully.

Fault F63

Roger
Depending on the model number - (guessing its a W48XX series) F63 is a water path fault - This is the control unit that directs the water flow to the proper path (pre-wash, detergent, fabric softener ect..... ) Sometimes and audible clicking can be heard when this unit fails as it trying to switch to the proper path as per the program being ran.

The drain pump is activated for 120 s. Cause Water path control system faulty. The power-programme module (ELP) cannot register a valid position of the water path control unit within approx. 80 s of it being switched on.
