Re: bouth it used need disc to make it easier to download...
Metro PCS just as Sprint PCS does not use the same GSM network as AT&T or Verizon Wireless.
PCS is a completely separate wireless system. The phone MUST be compatible with the PCS communication platform to work properly, in other words it must be able to connect at the proper frequency bandwidth that PCS connects to. GSM uses the 900Mhz frequency range and PCS uses the newer 1.9Ghz.
The 800i does not support the PCS frequency so most likely you will not be able to use it with a prepaid Metro PCS SIM card. There is only T-Mobile prepaid that you can use with the available frequency connections.
As for accessories, there are several places to find adapters, the Sony Ericsson website still carries most components although they a bit more expensive, you are getting genuine Sony hardware. The download software suite can be obtained for free from the Sony website. The software makes transferring files from your PC to phone easier and allows you to change the sampling rate for MP3 files so that you can store more music for your listening pleasure.
I have a similar model Sony phone the W600i and have yet to have a problem with it (2.75 years old). The memory storage is only 256MB, however with reducing the music sampling rate to 64kb from 192kb it allows me to store around 8 hours of music, enough to fly to Europe or South America. The camera has a lot of features found in regular digital cameras like:
White balance Appeture setting Date Stamp Sepia Tone B/W image Panoramic Image (Great feature)

go into call and put in #06# and note imei number that comes up. Next phone the mobile network provider and tell them you want to check you phone got connected properly to their network when you purchased it , give them the mobile phone number and the imei number if they ask for it.
If it is a pre paid phone you may need a recharge of credits onto the phone. The dealer or assistant should have done this for you if needed and explained the pre paid system to you if you are on pre paid. You may have an internet portal with the mobile phoine network provider that can manage your pre paid.
If the mobile phonw was connected via wi fi you should have an application somewhere on the phone to manage recharging credits. if pre paid
You can't do it on the mobile data if your credits are zero.
what network is the phone set up to connect to. I am assuming you are referring to a Prepaid Service. Go to the network provider or a store that sells a recharge voucher for you phones network and buy a recharge voucher which will explain what to input into the phone to recharge the pre-paid. If it is a contract phone contact the phone network provider . You can usually buy a recharge directly with a phone network provider and have them setup the prepaid recharge for you. Do you have a pre-paid sim card in the phone . http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FksILpQPHRo
Some phones are locked on to a particular network provider and would need to be unlocked (cost to you) to go on other networks.
Welcome to Fixya,
To download Music from Nokia you have to register for Music Service.
To buy and download tracks, you have to sign up for the service by providing some standard information, such as username, password, email address and mobile phone number. You must the add credit to your account; there are a variety of ways of adding credits to your account, by using a credit or debit card or by using pre-paid vouchers.
This voucher contains a scratch-off panel which contains a unique 16-character PIN code.
It's quick and easy to register for the Nokia Music Store online on your PC and add credit to your account. Once you have done this you can sign in to your account directly from your Nokia N81 8GB. You can then browse and buy tracks that can be sent straight to the phone.
I think it helps.

Pay as you go (Pre-Paid) phones will be unlocked by AT&T. Simply call them and tell them you need it unlocked. They will provide you with the unlock code and instructions on how to enter it. Because you paid full price for the phone, it can be unlocked. The only requirement is that the phone was used on an AT&T pre-paid account for at least 30 days.
if you press *"06" and get me your imei number i can talk you through how to unlock your phone so it will take any network or any sim card but need your imei number first so i can get your unlock code as they are different for every phone hope to hear from you soon
i had found a manual in english that the guy i bought mine from tolled me to go to...however for some reason my computer wont bring me to it anymore, but it did work for a while. If your songs are downloaded onto your computer just make sure your phone is plugged in using your usb cable. go to start, my computer, and your device that is there, and then paste the songs into my music.
