Hi Gmworley,
Since it will take too much room to explain to you how to install a ram memory card, I give you these links: a "how to" step by step text based a video from YouTube in which it is showing how to install ram memory.

Ram not working

Step 1:
A memory slot is a slot in your motherboard where you place your RAM (Random Access Memory) card. In layman's terms, the RAM is the "temporary memory" that the computer utilizes whenever it is turned on. If the computer cannot detect a RAM card installed in one of your memory slots, you have to troubleshoot the problem immediately.
Ensure that the problem is with the RAM slot and not the memory card. Turn off the computer, unplug all devices connected into the ports of your computer and open the computer casing. Refer to the manual of the computer to know the specific steps to follow in opening the computer casing. Remove the memory card from the RAM slot. To do this, unlock the card using both hands. Pull the card away from the slot to remove. Inspect the RAM card for any apparent physical damages. Wipe the card with a clean cloth to remove dust. Also wipe the memory slot in your motherboard. Place the RAM card back into the memory slot. Press the card into the slot until it clicks into place. Close the computer casing, connect the cables back into their respective slots and turn on the computer. Turn on the computer and see if the memory is detected. If the computer does not boot up, the RAM card is not detected by the computer. Assuming that you have two memory cards installed in the computer and the computer boots up, check if the second memory card is detected by the computer. Click "Start," right-click "Computer" and then "Properties." Under "System," check the amount of "Installed Memory (RAM)." If the RAM is not detected, the RAM slot or the RAM card itself may be malfunctioning. Place the RAM card into another memory slot in your motherboard and see if the card is detected. If it is detected, the other memory slot is malfunctioning. Do not install any RAM card into it to avoid further damage. If it is not detected, the RAM card may be malfunctioning. Insert another RAM card into the slot. If the RAM card is detected, the slot is malfunctioning. repair memory slot

Hi! My Hp Pavillion a1710n desktop emits a series of never ending beeps every time I turn it on, and nothing appears on the monitor. I checked and the monitor is plugged in. I dont know what's going on.

The problem with RAM or DISplay card(It can be Moisture problem) or Processor Fan is not working properly. Open the CPU case, locate RAM, remove the ram by opening the both side clips. and put the RAM back as it is. If you have Graphics card on your CPU then remove the Graphics Card also and put it back as it is. Start the PC with opened case to check Processor Fan is Rotating or not. If Fan is not working properly then you have to replace the Processor FAN. Fan ok but same problem persists. you have to replace RAM with new one. as well as Graphics (Display) card.

Un-installing and reinstalling the Memory Cards (RAM) from their slots may solve your problem. If they didn't installed properly that happens.
And please check the memory card (RAM) whether they are faulty or not. If there is faulty one, replace it with the new Memory Card. (It beeps if it is faulty or didn't installed properly when you power on the PC.)

Before opening the case please turn off the computer, unplug it from the electrical outlet, then touch the metal casing to eliminate any static charge. Refer to the owner's manual if necessary to determine how to open your particular PC case.

You can find the instructions on how to install PC Memory by clicking THIS LINK.

Hope this helps.

Waiting your comments.

After i install the new motherboard, and i hit the power button, the screen monitor is not on and my heard the long beep sound from my motherboard. i check all the wire is ok but i dont know what wrong?...

You may need to try a few steps here,

1. Switch of you pc and open up you pc cover.

2. Pull out the memory (RAM) from the slot by pressing down the clipsfrom each edge, be gentle will you push down the clips from each side.Remember how it was seated when u pull out.

3. After that, put re-seat back the RAM back to the slot by pressing each edges in, firmly but not with excessive power.

4.Try to switch on the pc after you re-seated the RAM. If no success, youhv to repeat the procedure again, but this time clean the RAM's contactwith a cloth and contact cleaner, then re-seat it back and try again.

*here's the instruction with diagram to show you how to do it.

and video as well

5.If still no sign of success, you might have to unplug other cards, suchas your video card, and re-seat them back, then try again.

6. Worst case scenario, disassemble your motherboard and test it without fixing in the chasis by fising only your power supply, RAM, Video Card, Keyboard, and see if it works.

Good luck mate, comment here to let me know the progress or any success.

Do remember to rate my solution.. thanks (^_^)

Can I install any ram memorie cards that will fit my Dell gx260

The memory has to be the same type that is in your PC. Not necessarily the same manufacturer.

Your PC came with PC2700 DDR memory Dimms.
If you have DDR memory sticks from your other PC, then it may work.
Just make sure you unplug the PC and touch the metal case before you pick up and install the memory.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe
