It was working fine and then I got a virus on my computer. So I had to call for tech help and got my computer back to factory settings. But now my printer won't work. I'm very computer illiterate. Can someone please help me. What do I do? Someone told me I should have some discs to download, but I don't know where my discs are. Is there another way?
You will need to click on "Software & Driver Downloads", which will take you to a page to choose your operating system. Click the appropriate OS. You will then be taken to a page to select the software you need/want.
You will probably need to select the Basic Software and Driver. The Full Feature is over 276MB. If you have broadband/cable, it will still take awhile to download that big a file. The basic is 37MB. You have the option to purchase a new CD if you like.
Once you click on your choice. You have the option to Install or Download. I would suggest you click Install since you say you aren't that great with computers. If you need more help, just comment.

I just left you a response on your other post about this same topic. Just so you know, you did not buy your equipment through FixYa. FixYa is a forum for people to get help from the community or to pay to get help from experts. No one here sold you that equipment. I am sorry you are having trouble, but please don't blame the people who are trying to help you.
I had previously installed the printer on this computer, but then the computer died (from a virus) and we made a boot cd, setting the computer back to a previous date when the virus was not a problem.
--- This does not kill the virus, unless this was a complete back up of the previous date, if its a recover to a particular date, the virus is likely still there. I would suggest a full virus/malware scan. Even with that done, I would probably still back up all important documents, pics, information, ect; and do a full factory restore (erase and reinstall). Then install the printer.
With that said, your best bet is to go directly to Espons website and download the latest drivers for this printer and install it from that.
if you have a oem install disk uninstall the present installation disconnect from the web disable you anti virus and reinstall. if your down loading from the web save the files to your desk top. disconnect from the web disable your anti virus and run the install from your desktop. scanner drivers are often thought to be viruses by antivirus programs and will prevent them from being installed
You need a power lead to the printer and a usb lead going between the printer and the computer. The manual is available to download at http://support.euro.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/924/en/om_en/om_en.pdf
Go to control panel and unistall printer
Turn off all your running programs including your virus control (look in the lower right corner and click on each little icon there and turn off everything you can)
Now reinstall your printer. When it is finished, if it has not told you to reconnect your printer, do so now.
Restart your computer.
Good Luck. Please let me know if this works and rate my solution. Thank You.
Did it ever work on new system or never has. Sound like either a software conflict or similar but most likely it doesn't like new machine specs. Have you made sure no other printer software is accidentally installed. Are specs for new system and printer compatable. Some manufacturers specify their machines specifically do not like certain OS's and specs. Because pc and software tech is going so fsat it is really hard for manufacturers to keep up, just as they run off their new printer, state of the art, microsoft brings out a new OS etc, and voila, a new updateddriver is needed. Have you considered it may be the pc causing the errors, ie the registry (from malware, spyware etc) not allowing proper installation. This can and does happen. Just last week, my friends printer was perfectly fine, she had some spyware and we had to edit the registry as it had corrpted where the printer was installed but also her cd rom drive icon and use were wiped out. Run antispyware virus and registry scans to eliminate these. Also try installing printer off a back up copy of the disc not original, good luck.
Download the newest drivers from here(one of the should work). Uninstall the printer and any software that still may be on the computer. Shutdown the computer and printer. Reboot the computer(with out printer hooked up) and start the new software install. It will tell you when to hook the printerup. Disable any virus protection or spyware programs before you start the install.
Let me know what happens.
