Question about Dryers

1 Answer

I have an Admiral electric dryer that is 3 years old. Earlier this evening I dried a load of clothes and when I reloaded it again, it will not come on. The interior light will come on and the door switch clicks if I push on it. Can you help me solve the problem. We have checked the breaker and even turned it off and back on, but no luck.

Thank you TBlessed1 for your help. When we tried the dryer this morning, it worked fine. We are now wondering if it just overloaded and a safety switch turned it off in order to cool down.

The dryer has a overload type fuse that blew out the wiring diagram might show you where but it should be either on or near the motor and also check the switch contact where door closes....

Takes too long to dry clothes

You may have a clogged air vent, check that the air vent hose is not smashed, if it is not smashed, have your dryer vent cleaned professionally, all the way from where the dryer connects to the wall to where the vent leaves the home,
Recheck the dryer operation, dryer vents should be cleaned every other year for optimum performance

Check your electrical power going to the dryer at where you plug the plug in at the receptical. and make sure you have 120 volts on each leg, it sounds like you may have one leg with 120 volt and the other leg with no voltage. I hope this helped. Please rate me, Thanks

Admiral Dryer: 5 cycle 3 temperature electric

Unplug Dryer
Remove back (many screws)
Clean lint from interior & Vent Chute
check for breakage & parts on dryer floor
check for burn damage (wires burned off or char)
if no burn or char:
could be the "Dryer Coil" itself broke or
a "Snap Disc" usually mounted on the coil housing.
Very Serious!!!! Replace only!!!! Do not ever bypass!!!!
Stay clear of dryer for test start
Be ready to shut it down fast in case of problems
Always replace back & vent chute
Good luck,
Vinnie

It takes at least 2 60 minute cycles to dry clothes. Not even 2 years old yet. Not a new problem has always been this way. What is the deal.

Check the blower fan which is mounted underneath the drum on my DLE2514W front loading LG dryer. I experienced poor drying along with a loud thump at the start of each cycle. At first I thought it was a bad roller but later found that the blower fan had separated from its bracket so it was not turning with each turn of the moter but rather spinning freely.
