sorry i think i didn't explain it very well. the zoom lens of my fujifilm fine pix model A805 8.3Megapixels it is all the way out and is stuck and doesn,t go back, and on the screen it read zoom error. The first time i try
and idid by pressing the lens back, but i think i damage the gears or something. So now it doesn't work the zoom that is. the camera is off with the zoom all the way out.Like i said is the gears mechanism so am sure i have to open it; but the other problem is that i need a precision triangular screw driver, and already try it all the tiny screws are very tight. so that the other problem. so i can't open it.

  • mazoote Oct 16, 2008

  • mazoote Oct 16, 2008

No man, you'd only break it more if you tried. Just trust me, it's a much better investment to take it to professionals. They'll know what to do, as this is a common problem.

Part two that you wanted to know- it' shouldn't cost you much (not cheap though, costs lots less than buying a new one in my opinion), but i really couldn't tell you considering varying prices. I wouldn't take it to best buy, I'd go to Ritz Cameras or some other speciallized camera-only store. Private storeowners are also good bets for camera fixes. And yellowbook is a good bet for finding them.

Thanks.

You may want to send the unit out for service. Especially if you feel you have already damaged parts. You can get estimates. You can contact fuji-film directly for an authorized service center or go with someone local. I can assist you further when I know exactly what your trying to do.
thanks,
Lee

one may get zoom error due to any of the following:

    • Camera activating and lens opening while in a confined space

    • Extracted lens getting jarred

    • Low battery condition as the unit is turned on or off

    • Dropping of the camera

    • Foreign substances, such as dust, sand or dirt entering into the camera body.

    • General jarring of the camera

    • "General camera malfunction"

Does the fuji fine pix camera have a focus button? where is it?I want to be able to zoom in on a subject without losing focus.

No, your camera does not have a manual focus button.
Even if it did, you wouldn't be able to keep focus while zooming.
Only very expensive lenses maintain focus regardless of focal lenght.
The correct procedure is to zoom and then focus.

A805 zoom error, lens won't move

Screw driver for these screws is a "Tri-wing" screwdriver. Source them on ebay.
The only way to solve your problem correctly is to dismantle it and clean it thoroughly. Tapping or knocking your camera may only solve you problem short term and I would never recomend this as a "fix" some say it works others don't but what ever is causing it will cause it again unless rectified.
BECAREFULL of electric shock once you have the casing apart. Removing the batteries does not render it safe. The flash will be charged and will give quite a nip if you touch the board or components.
The A800 has a plastic pin which the focus lens is guided on inside and this snaps off and jams the lens. your A805 could be similar

Camera won't focus when using optical zoom

I had same problem. Found that doing a complete reset fixed it. Go into setup and at end there is a factory reset. If not working after that would suspect your ccd sensor is on way out. They should last 5-7 yrs. Be cheaper to get another cam with way prices have come down
