Hi

Well about guaranteed your 2 gigs ram is probably DDR II ram which has maximum of four gigs with 64 bit processing and 2 with 32 bit is. So motherboard needs upgrade. 35.00 for good giabit or board with 1000 megs a sec ethernet lan. With ddrIII ram. And upgrade operating system I believe win 8 has max 16 gig ram win 7 uses 8 gis vista and longhorn 64 use 4 and xp normal edition 32 bit uses 2 max. So you about have to run win 7 or 8. Win 7 will become direct x incomparable at some point making us change to win 8. Win8 cost like 300 to 350 and tiger direct.com has good deal of the win 7 pro media center for 75 bucks. So spend 150 on good speed 8 gig ram, 125 bucks for 12 core and at 4 GHz I think. And a board for 35. Reuse all other componets. And you\'ll have a 2500 dollar computer and best on the block. 1) Check your BIOS to see if there is an AUTO spd setting. (usually you have to push either F2 or Delete key when you see the first black screen with white words)
2) Make sure that the speed ratings of the memory chips are compatible. If the new one isn't backward-compatible in speed, it might be too fast to be supported by an older motherboard.

I have a asus eeepc901sd with 1gb sdram; want to upgrade ram to 2 gb; is this possible?

Yes but please make sure you know what kind of RAM you need. (ie. DDR1, or DDR2)
Almost all laptops have atleast two RAM ports located on the back. I would advise contacting a licensed retailer to match up the RAM you need and give you a quote. Most laptop DDR2 1Gb of RAM prices around 40$.

Hope this helps ^^, Please don't forget to rate! Thanks :)

I have an asus k8v-mx motherboard running only 512 mb of ram what type of ram would suit this mother board and could i fit a 1 x 2mb ram instead of 2 x 1mb?

Dear Sir,

*********** board is Asus old p4 Mother board. It supports maximum 1GB RAM of DDR 400(DDR1). According to your post your computer having only one 512 MB working RAM. If you want good purformance you can upgrade your computer by purchasing another 512MB DDR400 RAM and install it on another RAM slot.If your computer have only one working RAM slot, you can purchase 1GB DDR400 RAM & install it on older RAM place. I think it solves your problem.if you have any problem come back with more information. I will try to assist you more accurately.

good luck

Dear Sir i have pentium 4 motherboard 865gbx and i wanted to upgrade the ram. so maxixmum how much ram it will support and wat shd be speed like..333mhz??

IT supports Maximum 2GB DDR400 RAM.
It mainly depends on the Processor speed.I think 1gb RAM is sufficient for Your Pentium 4 configuration. If you use more than 1Gb.there is no remarkable speed difference between them.So better choice is use 1GB RAM.

Ram upgradation for 845glad mother board

Hi! If you have orignal Intel D845 then you need ram less than 333 Mhz (Around 266mhz or so) and do remember to check that it is advisable not to use RAM of more than 1GB as you won't be able to find a 1GB RAM(DDR1) with 266 Mhz or less.
