Question about Refrigerators

Kitchenaid fridge too cold

My fridge is Kitchenaid KSRA25ILSS02. The freezer is working fine and the fridge is about 30 degrees. We replaced the air diffuser 2 years ago. Is it bad again? Could it be something else?

We cleaned what dust we could from the bottom and back.

We are not techy enough to test the diffuser. We have just bought the Electronic Control Board, hoping that will fix it. But at this point we can't figure out how to get out the old one. We have the schematic and have removed the screws and taken down the housing and can see the board, but there aren't any screws to remove it. We don't want to force it out. It doesn't lift up freely, there are tabs, but my husband says when he loosens the tabs, it still doesn't lift easily. On the outside of the housing there seems to be a sticker that has the control buttons and that sticks on with tape. I was thinking maybe the tape is keeping the panel stuck on the other side. If that's the case, that means that the existing part will be ruined if we remove the sticky part on the other side. Any ideas on how to remove this panel is greatly appreciated. We don't want to break it taking it out. If this part doesn't fix the problem, we can return it, but if we break the old one.....then we can't.

fridge is on as warm as it can be and it freezes teh milk and eggs.

if i turn off the "cooliing" button, then the ice dispenser and display on the door do not work. the manual is totally lame and does not clearly explain this button or process.

Well some times moisture sneaks inside the difuser and ice builds up and it breaks so look under the kcik plate and there should be a tech sheet and tells you how to trouble shoot that difuser to see if it closes or open it it does not close the repl difuser but this time seal arount the liner at difuser with silicon is the difuser is mechanical repl the thermostat

Amana fridge is not cold but freezer is working

If freezer is ok and cooling ( 5 degrees or less) one thing you might want to check is that the flow of cold air to refrigerator is not obstructed by the items in your freezer. The ductwork has to be available. Also check the opening of the damper if fridge is not cold enough. And is the fan operating at full speed - are the bearings dirty and slowing it down?
Also check your freezer temp - there are degrees of freezing. Water freezes at 32 degrees but a good freezer should go down to about zero. And the colder your freezer air is the colder your fridge will be.

Sub zero 532. freezer works fine --0 degrees. fridge wont get below 50 degrees. cleaned condenser fins- still no decrease in temp

check the fan that runs between the freezer and the fridge --check fan for ice blockage -debris-or damage / clean or clear blockage --if not running test wiring and connections as well as motor /repair or replace //also check fan damper is not frozen or blocked its flap that opens and closes for air to flow //----ur fridge side is cooled from the the freezer side the cold air is blown in from the freezer if fan or damper is not working correctly than fridge is usually warm and freezer is working properly

Fridge not cold as should be

The fridge gets its cold air from the freezer through a vent(damper) between the freezer and fridge. The fan in the freezer blows air through it. There is a flap you adjust with the fridge temp. control. Make sure it's opening and closing when you adjust the fridge temp .

If the evaporator coils behind the back panel of the freezer are icing up because of auto defrost failure that will stop the circulation of cold air and eventually affect the freezer too.

check defrost timer, defrost heater, defrost thermostat. In most newer models the timer has been replaced by an electronic control board. If the heater and thermostat are ok it’ll be the control.

You can turn the defrost timer till it clicks and everything shuts down. The heater should now come on. If it does, replace the timer. If it doesn't, check the heater and defrost thermostat. Turn the timer again till everything starts back up to end the defrost cycle.
