replace the start capacitor on the motor body,it is located under a metal cover by loosening 2 screws,it is getting weak, also if you leave this breaker jumped, you will soon over heat the motor windings and ruin the motor

My Campbell Hausfeld 13 gallon compressor was working fine then all of a sudden I was losing air in my drill gun and when I turned it off. I tried to turn it back on and it will not turn on?

check your circuit breaker or fuse, then check to see if the compressor itself has a circuit breaker, it may have tripped, if it is humming you may need a new start capacitor, also check your switch

Compressor is not starting, it could be a bad or shorted run capacitor, start capacitor and relay, low voltage, loose or disconnected wire or a shorted compressor.

Check the gas pressure, if it low it inhibits the relay that energises the compressor.

do you have a 38 shot gun? i only ask because it may be time to get it loaded. the most common cuase of fuses tripping is your compressor. going to ground. before you shoot it you should inspect the 3 wires connected to the compressor to ensure they haven't melted together. if the wires are fine record their position, remove them and cover the ends (seperatly) in black tape so that no metal is showing then replace the fuses and restart if they trip your compressor is fine if everything else starts then your compressor is toast. expect to spen $1500 ish for the compressor. go to on the right there is a repair replacement calcualtor. you'll find it is best to replace the unit. write back if it isn't your compressor and you want to tackle further issues.

Campbell Hausfeld Air Compressor won't start

The compressor starting problem is common to most of the small portable compressors. Poor design and undersized components are to blame. If you have one of these units i suggest looking into a product called the Smart Start by Conrader Valves. It is interchangeable with the standard air filters and allows the compressor to start without fail. check it out-

AC keeps blowing fuses

Fuses are a protection device and I guess that this is for the condenser section and compressor. If they blow right now when it is turned on would indicate that there is a short in the wiring or motor or compressor. If it trys to start and the outside fan starts and the compressor just humms and blows fuse, you have a locked compressor. Might check run capacitor or install a hard start kit and see if it will brake it loose, if not bad compressor

Fuse or Freon?

yes, you can check for freon: you can force the compressor on using 2 jumper wires. look for the wires leading to the compressor motor. Disconnect these wires from the source (not at the compressor). Using jumper wires, connect external house power (120 VAC) directly to compressor and turn that power on. The motor should start. If the copper lines (or finned radiator) get cold, then your freon is ok. There is usually not a fuse in these units.
