Do you actually have a problem extracting audio from CD, or are you
imagining a problem. I have never heard of a CD-ROM without a cache,
actually at least several caches !
I've also never heard of an app being 'not safe' with any CD-ROM, except
the HP4020i with which nothing was ever safe - but that's a different story

yes, i really did. i can not image any kind of method to verify the
results.
below link is all info about the drive on the ASUS's official site, but
it's brief and gets no intro about the audio-caching.
thanks.

What does "not safe" mean? Did you hear this from a
reliable source? Are they able to explain this remarkable
conclusion? Perhaps you should be asking *them*.
I can't imagine any kind of read function that could
possibly be "unsafe"?
