Most of the wireless adapters connect at a speed of 54mbps max, while wired lan connection adaptors (LAN adapter/cable) works at max of 100/1000mbps. hence use a cable to connect the PC to make it faster than using wireless.
hi, ok sir i got it if the wireless network is detected then try and connect and the if it doesnt connect try and connect in safe mode with networking sometimes wireless doesnt work in safe mode, but still try that, uninstall and reinstall the wireless driver for adaptor and then open the gui page(router page with the default gateway page and then change the wireless channels and also turn off the firewall, and from the start, all programme turn on the wireless adaptor utility and then start the services of wireless zero configuration from services.msc.....then if it is connected with the ehternet cable, then what u can do is that go to the router page and then also put a check in the let the windows controll the wireless network......and it will definately work and if it doesnt work then reinstall the operating system......good luck...
if it is a little bit also helpful pls.rate this soultion for me pls.....

Yes. Wired will be faster and setup is the same. You turn off the wireless on the laptop, and plug in the ethernet cable. The settings are probably defaulted to obtain an IP address automaticlly and that should work.
The wirelss will continue to work as it did before for the other machines.
This router will not support vista laptops..and the warranty period for this router is only a single year..better you can go for advanced g or gs routers .. model no's like..wrt54g or wrt54gs..with a warranty perion of 3 years..
this is for u..
It seems that you are not connected to the wireless connection ..i think the operating system in your laptop would be xp..to fix this problem right click > wireless n/w connection > click view wirelss network connection > click change the order of the preffered network connections > select your wireless network name > from preffered wireless network and remove it..and then right click wireless network connection icon again and try connect to the network.. you will get connect.. and will get an ipaddress..
