Question about Washing Machines
My Maytag front loader washes clothes well but will not spin all of the water out. The clothes come out dripping wet. I had a repairman look at it and I honestly think he couldn't figure out what was wrong with it because he called another service guy in to help him and after awhile, they said that they wanted to take it in to their shop to repair it. I told them no. I turned it on today and now the lock door light does not come on and I can open the door while the load it washing. It still washes the clothes, but the light will not come on and the door will not lock. So, now I have two problems. HELP!
There is possibly three issues here. A door lock, pump or drain and a timer can cause you problem. I would first pull the front back off and make sure all the wires are plugged in. The door shroud is the easiest to remove and put back as it locks in, be sure not to pull off the inner section of the shroud as a really nice spring is there to challenge your sanity. I will include some pics so you can see where all the screws go because explaining this is confusing, you just have to go section by section to access the door latch.
Now you need to check that the wires going to this assembly are correct, secured tightly and working. If all of this is correct go below and to the right to check the pump. I use a garbage bag to catch the water so I can inspect the pump and hoses for blockage.
