The car began making clicking sounds last year. We had a mechanic look at it and he suggested a new axel (passenger side is where the noise came from). After placing the new axel on, the car squeaked. Three months later, it began to thump, thump, growl when driving and turning the wheel, but only in dry weather. Now, the care does it all the time and is getting louder. It also has a click, click from the drivers side now.
Let me tell u r experience we had clicking noise in our 2005 equinox on frt wheel dr on drivers side every mechanic told us cv joint axle or boot bought the part and when installing notice sensor bracket hitting the rotor not the cv joint so when we bent the sensor bracket back away fr rotor the clicking noise stopped also we did find out that when u remove the cv joint the transmission fluid leaks out so then u have to put all new transmission fluid in it which is not a big problem we did spend 2 hrs trying to find the place were u put it in as equinox doe not have ordinary dipstick like most vehicles i hope this helps
Sounds like you might have a bad wheel bearing.

Does the red fluid have a metalic look from little metal particles? If so, then it is time for a new or salvage yard pump. Not hard to tell. Just put something up against the pump and listen to that up to your ear. You will be able to tell of the pump is the source of the noise or not.
