Will not enter line mode

The printer will not flash green after releasing flashing red on power up so it will not enable line mode. How do you get around this or make it work properly?

I don't believe that the 2844 can be put in line mode by using that method.

There is a Zebra utility to do this for you, you just need to download the proper one fro your install.

For serial port installs

For parallel port installs

*note - you may need to be logged in to the Zebra site in order to download those.

I have an IP3000 printer and each time it is turned on it goes into error mode (the on light blinks amber 5 times then turns green for about 1 second then it flashes amber again

I. Make sure the printer is off but is plugged in

II. Hold down [RESUME] (Triangle pointed down) and hold down [POWER]
and wait 5 seconds or so.

Release [RESUME] but Continue to hold [POWER]. Double click [RESUME].
then Release [POWER].

Press [RESUME], than [POWER]. This should cause the printer to print a
simple diagnostic that'll list it's ROM number and list CDR SENSOR=OK
in red for the last line.
Press [RESUME] twice then [POWER]] to print off the second diagnostic.
Press [POWER] by it self to exit service mode and return to being a
printer.

Firmware corrupted? Only prints some random computer text

The printer is in line mode. Do the following to take it out of line mode:
Turn printer power off.
Hold the feed button while turning printer power on.
When the light starts flashing, release the feed button.
When the light starts flashing again, press and hold the feed button.
When the light turns steady amber, release the feed button.
When the light turns steady green, the mode is changed.
Verify the mode by printing and inspecting a status report.

This requires good timing and may take several tries. You'll know it worked if no labels are reeled out after you're done.
